My canan mp258 cannot scan document. it say code 2,140,2

toner sensor error clean toner hopper sensor then machine will be fine

Just replace the cartridges

please help me....
I m trying to scan my document but it is showing error code 2,140,2 on PC and error code E5 at printer....my catridiges is empty is it because of that reason............

Canon PIXMA mp258 is a series 3 in 1 printer (print, scan, and copy) in lieu of MP145 and mp198. MP258 printer cartridge uses PG810 series (black) and CL811 (color) so different from the series MP145 and mp198.
It had been several times we found the damage Error P10 (on display) for the series MP258 printer. According to our experience of Error P10 can be solved by replacing one or more of the following spare parts:

• Cartridge PG810 or CL811 (can be both).
• Carriage unit complete with its head cable.
• Logic Board.

Check that easiest of starts before the last of the cartridge until the logic board

Make sure the scanner is connected to your laptop/PC before you press 'scan'.
Pressing the scan option will start Canan's software MP Navigator for scanning. You can also start MP Navigator on your PC and then start scanning directly from your program or from the printer button.

Mine is MP258 having same problem. I solved when i unplug all the other device using my laptop USB port and only plug in the scanner USB cable and problem solved
