#1 Unplug the router, wait 30 second, plug it back in, let it reset, then see if you can connect.

#2 Right click your wireless connection, view wireless networks. Click on your network, then if the button says connect, try to connect to the network. If the button says disconnect, then disconnect, then after the network lis refreshes, click your network and click connect.

My desktop has a local area connection with limited to no connectivity. I had my desktop pc connected to a netgear n900 router and a vonage phone connected to the router's lan1 port. This caused i

Did this connection ever work before? I have a similar setup with Iristel and once in a while it goes down (Hurricane Leslie generated the problem last week).

Check whether the setup works without the Vonage device. This will tell you whether the problem is with your router or the Vonage box. If it works without the Vonage, the problem is in the Vonage box, you may find a good time to call Vonage for support.

I don't know whether the Vonage box (in my Iristel case it's a mediatrix 2 something) has to 'call home' before it lets your router set itself up.

If your router does not work without the Vonage, you have a simpler problem, the router is the issue. You can reconnect the Vonage and if the phones work, this confirms that the router is the problem. At least you can use the phones.

With the router, you need to log in to the admin screens and poke around until you find the problem. It is always a good idea to only change one thing at a time and always remember what changed immediately before the problem was noticed.

I have an old Victorian house with an apartment in the back above the barn/garage. I am trying to get wireless internet connections to all sections of the house but my current router (3 years old) is not...

Hello.

Yes. As you mentioned, you have a Victorian house, with very thick walls. I'd suggest drawing a diagram showing the rooms and floors that need access.

First, if possible, I would place your router in a centralized location, if all 5 people need similar strength access.

Then what you need are multiple repeaters to go with your router. Place them strategically, so that the wireless access signal can bounce off of them and go around walls, instead of through walls and floors.

Hope this helps.

Set up my netgear router. laptops show that they are wirelessly connected to the main computer, but we cant get them to connect to the internet. also lost the netgear cd that came with router. do we need...

The netgear router installation will set up the internet connection during install.
Download the Router driver from netgears website and install on the computer/s then your up and running.
it appears you wireless card is seeing the router so just install the drivers and your set.

Need help with connections and connecting to internet w/Netgear

Ok with that issue you actually need the manual for the netgear router. If that doesn't help you then you need to contact tech support by going to www.netgear.com and having them help you! That is the best way to go right now!

Hi,lost laptop wireless connection to my netgear WGT624v3. It detects the router is there but says 'aquiring network address' laptop works ok if i plug it direct to the hub port... any ideas appreciated....

try setting the channel to 11, but it depends on your location, for the best connection try finding the right channel that suites your locations.

sometimes there are alot of devices that can interfere with the signal coming from the router.

for your reference try this link for wireless range.

Using my laptop

Hi,
So let me make this clear. you want to be able to connect to the internet wirelessly with your laptop instead of having a cable plugged in. if so, what you need is a wireless router. you can purchase a netgear WGT624 connect that to your DSL modem and configure your laptop to connect wirelessly. there should be an icon on the lower right hand corner to configure your wireless on laptop. its easy. if your having a hard time doing that call dell at 800-8228965.

hope this helps.

thanks.
