Firstly, don't use registry mechanic. It will cause more problems than it claims to fix.

Registry mechanic is a fluke program.
Don not trust it. Suggest you use Mcafee or another popular anti-virus solution.
What are you trying to fix ?

Well I would remove all software to that hardware being the TV card. Reboot the pc see if the error regenerates. If not then I would reload the newest version off the manufactures site. As well I would go into the msconfig and tell it not to run on bootup.

Deleted Sonic DLA because of crashes and now computer won't recognize unformatted disc in drive

Go to the registry and delete the lower and "upperfilters"for the CD/DVD drive option. you can access it by going to this option. REGEDIT >> HKEY Local Machine >> System >> CurrentControlSet >> Control >> Class >> Select for the option which is the first {4D36.....}. After deleting the upper/lowerfilters, close the Registry Editor and restart the laptop. Then there try inserting a blank disc or any disc. Thank you.

DELL Inspiron 6400. CD/DVD ROM cant read any cd/dvd used to work before but not working anymore. updated the firmware from Dell website, done the upgrades etc.. still doesnt work? help please.

If the drive still spins up when you insert a disk it sounds like the lasers have picked up dirt/dust or have burnt out. Try opening the drive door and blowing hard into the aperture (without spitting). If that doesn't help then I would suggest replacing the drive. I assume that you have tried the disks in another machine and that they run fine.
