I know the POST screens usually go by quickly, but do they do anything different?

WHat happened between when it did work & the error?

Sorry - you had listed it was a Packard Bell iMedia SL 9553 (P660401806).

It would help though to have the OS verson and the acual load error.....

    1. What version of windows are you using?

    2. What model of PackardBell are you using?

    3. What is the load error?

PACKARD BELL iXtreme I5622UK DVD Driver problems

You need to UNINSTALL the drivers and not delete them if you had done so on the PC. If this wont help it is possible that the OS must be reinstalled after formatting of the drive and thereby the drivers can be installed.

Cant install windows xp on packard bell pav80 mini 10 "

i have the same problem with the 3 pc here in my shop 1st problem is DVD/cd Drive can't read the CD even the CD is new and no scratches. but if i tried plug it to other computer and load other cd its working so i had a conclusion that the CD drive is choosing what DVD/CD to read. so i change the DVD drive

now it's ok it can read my window xp service pack3 and now its loading but the 2nd problem is, when window xp load it will suddenly stop and displaying error saying missing boot.sys.dll press escape to exit.

now if this the same problem you are having. check your memory card.it seems that it has some inconsistency issues thy testing it using a memory card testing tools or have it replace

i wish my little knowledge may help you
rate me up if this solve your problem and let me know if i did help you
tnx

I am trying to find out the Model Number of my Packard Bell Tower

Typically, a computer's model number is stamped somewhere on the front of the case, but if you don't see it there, you can find it in the System Information utility in Windows. In Windows XP, click on Start, then Accessories, then System Tools, then System Information. When the utility loads, under System Summary you will see your computer's manufacturer, model number, and type.

The driver still might work under Vista. Download the latest one at this location - http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=6929290000&pi=platform_scannerdiamond1200plus - and install.

Need to remove case to change DVD writer

Check the back of the PC case, There maybe a screw that needs to be removed in order to open the side panel. Another thing could be that there is some kind of sliding lock, that is holding the panel in place. Keep playing around in the back of the case, most likely you'll find it within a few minutes.

Just bought a packard bell tower an before i can get onto any screen a message pops up saying windows could not install propally or an error accured press OK to restart and windows will continue to install...

I'm assuming you bought this used. It sounds like the computer either didn't have the operating installed properly, the hard drive used to be in another computer and just dropped into this computer without re-installing the operating system.... or most likely that it has a virus.

Your best option in any of these cases is to do a clean install of your operating system. If you were not given a recovery disc you will unfortunately need to purchase Windows.

Packard bell tower pentium 2= CANT REINSTALL WINDOWSXP PRO

Hi Rob, unfortunatly there is no legal way to load Windows XP without your own disk. Microsoft only allow this to be loaded on one computer per disk and you can not use a friends disk as each computer has its own electronic signature. this is recorded when XP is activated and the disk key is recorded with that signature so it can not be used on more than the one computer.
