Go to start....run

In the box type msconfig

Go to the startups. Look for a program that relates to sonic update and uncheck the box. Press okay, restart the computer at the prompt. When it boots back up, click ok in the box that will appear. It should be taken care of.

You might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

My dell sonic is missing

I would go to symatec webste, and do a virus scan. You might have a virus that is deleting the files off. You can try going to www.dell.com enter your computer model number and download the sonic program.

I bought a blackberry via ebay and need the user/operating manual. Can you help Please

  1. Close any installations that are running in the background and resume the installation. If there are no installations running in the background, restart the computer and resume the installation.
  2. Delete the InProgress key and install the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager software.
To delete the InProgress key, complete the following steps:

Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows operating system. Document and back up the registry entries prior to implementing any changes.

  1. Go to Start > Run
  2. Type regedit.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Installer/InProgress.
  5. Delete the InProgress key.
If this is not working follow the second Resolution 2:-

Note:- To perform the following steps, you must be logged in with administrator permissions.

  1. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
  2. Under Computer Management, expand Services and Applications.
  3. Click Services.
  4. In the right pane, right-click Windows Installer and select Properties. To help find Windows Installer, sort the list of services by name.
  5. From the Startup Type drop-down list, select Disabled. By default, the Startup Type is set to Manual. Note: The Service status field is set to Started even though it is not running.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Restart the computer. The Windows Installer service is now disabled and will not start with the computer.
  9. Repeat the previous steps but change the Startup Type to Manual.

Hi My son decided to completely clear his Packard bell M1610 and i don't hav the recovery discs. Is ther anything i can do?(Apart from throttle my son)

When you mean he decided to clear his computer out. You probably mean he either deleted files, folders and programmes off his computer.

You have 2 options

1. Contact the computer shop you bought the PC from or the manufacturer Pacard Bell giving them the machine number in both cases and explain to them that you do not have the Recovery CD and can they post one out to me

or

2. Purchase a copy of an Operating System (either Windows Vista or Windows XP) and a copy of Office 2003 (XP) 2007 (Vista) and install a fresh copy on your machine.
