Question about Nokia N72 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

CDMA & GSM Technologies

I think Chinese / Spice mobiles sets are specially designed to catch both the singals of the respective networks... i.e. TATA / RIM & Airtel / Vodafone / Idea.

I wish to load CDMA software in Nokia N-3250 / N-73. Will it work?

Please advise

Mobile not supporting indian sim

What is your mobile model?Have you tried the mobile with other Indian sim cards? If you still get the same error then I think your phone is locked with a Saudi Arabian network. You need to unlock it...otherwise it wouldn't accept other networks. You can approach third party unlocking services like Unlock-zone.com and by specifying the mobile make, model, country and network to which the mobile is locked to you will be able to get the unlock service along with free unlock instructions.Once unlocked you will be able to use the phone with Indian sim cards.
If the phone works with other Indian simcards without unlocking then may be there is a problem with the sim card that you are using now.Approach the network provider and get a new sim.

Im pretty sure Telus is CDMA and therefore can't really be used on other networks except for other CDMA networks, and even so if you do want to use it on other CDMA networks it is near impossible as Carriers are very stringent on letting people use other devices on their networks. Its like trying to use the EVO 4G on Verizon, although CDMA its near impossible. Hope this answer helps smile.gif
I have heard no because the phone has hardware that is fine tuned to Verizon and/or Telus' networks and frequencies. Cell phones in the US operate much differently than other parts of the world where all you need is a SIM card and your good to go on another network.
Verizon has a CDMA network and AT&T has a GSM. They are incompatible. Even if you have say a T-Mobile GSM phone, it's not going to work on AT&T's GSM network, nor is it going to work on Vodaphone's GSM network in the UK, because in the US the carriers hard code the phones to their networks, and the FCC has regulated different "bands" of GSM here than what is in use in Europe and the rest of the world.

I do think Verizon and Sprint, since they both use the same CDMA data frequencies, do share data networks in many places, but the voice CDMA2000 part of your phone is still hard locked to your respective network.

If you get an unlocked GSM phone in the UK, you CAN use that phone with other carriers in the UK, because they don't make them locked down to specific networks there

Can i unlock my Tata Indicom Plug To Surf Epivalley usb modem to use other cdma sim

There are basically 2 branches when it comes to mobile phones. Some phones have SIM cards to connect or another technology that does NOT use sim cards These non-sim phones use CDMA instead of SIMs, so you cannot just swap SIMs like on GSM.

This is GSM and is what T-Mobile and AT&T use for voice.
Sprint and Verizon use CDMA but isn't normally unlocked.

So think GSM / SIM cards...

What is the meaning of cdma? is it normal sim card

In cellular service there are two main competing network technologies: Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA). Cellular carriers including Sprint PCS, Cingular Wireless, Verizon and T-Mobile use one or the other. Understanding the difference between GSM and CDMA will allow you to choose a carrier that uses the preferable network technology for your needs.

Dear sir,

Generally any GSM mobiles does not support CDMA,So N73 also does not work with CDMA.Because CDMA and GSM made by entirely different technologies. So only reliance CDMA mobiles can support for your CDMA sim. If you have any problem regarding this issue leave a feed back we will glad to assist you.

Network problem

Hi,
For information about the Motorola RAZR V3x and what carriers it will be on, here is a quick answer: only GSM carriers. For those unaware of the technology behind cell phones, there are two major competing technologies GSM and CDMA. You will never be able to use a GSM phone on a CDMA network or a CDMA phone on a GSM network. If it's all ok for you then call upon your service center.
Hope this Helped!

If u can solve this

Unfortunately not, CDMA is a type of phone designed for a specific cellular network.

The phone can only be designed to use on one system or the other.

Best of Luck.
