Bosch Maxx 2000 leaves brown sludge on washing. Has it died?

Is the rubber seal around the drum perished or has it not been cleaned for while? The seal should be wiped out after every use, you may find it full of gunk if you run a cloth around inside the seal.

LG Washing machine IE error code Solutions

An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes.

Are the water valves opened completely?

If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

Are the inlet hose filters clogged?

There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.

Are the inlet hoses attached properly?

If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

NOTE: The inlet filters are inside the hose connections on the back of the washer. Because of their small size, take care when removing and cleaning the inlet filters so that they do not break.

My WMS38 Hotpoint washing machine has the wash, rinse and spin and final spin lights on but nothing happens when the start button is pressed

Assuming tap water is turned on. If there is no water intake, the machine will not start. Check for the sound of water pouring in the machine. Check the water inlet filter, if it is jammed with foreign materials such as rust deposits, small stones, soil etc. Then check for the proper functioning of inlet water solenoid valve. Sometimes the valve gets stuck.

Slow filling with cold water

Hiya,
this can be a water presure issue with your mains or maybe the inlet tap to your machine is not open fully i would surgest checking the connection tap is open fully & allowing the maximum amount of water through to your machine.. if you sink taps run slow then this would be a sign of your water mains presure needing attention.. presure can also be reduced by using water around the house at the same time as the machine is on for example running a bath, dishwasher, flushing the toilet etc.

Hope this helps

I just did a load of whites and everything has black spots on it now.

do you do many boil washes ? if not sounds as though two things. (1) could be that you need too do a 90/95 degree wash, no pr wash, on max spin speed this will cost about 87p with 200 grams of bicarbonate of soda, straight into the drum (you find this in the cooking section of the super market) it is the stuff put into cakes.this will de sludge the machine and melt all old soap powder away that is deposited around the outter drum or carbaron as it is known or (2) worst case is, that that is greese from the bearings and may need replacing hope this helps this could cost about £150 if not insured

Cold water continues to flow into the wash drum after the wash cycle is completed

Hello Friend, Your solution is simple. You need to replace the water inlet valve. The cold water inlet on your valve is blocked with hard water deposits or dirt and debri from water lines, causing it to not close completely. This condition is allowing water to enter through the valve when it's supposed to be closed. Replacement is easy. Just replace water inlet valve and your problem will be solved. Happy to help, Tim.

pour some CLR into an empty tank - allow one flush and let it sit for a day then fill tank and flush again. hard mineral deposits are clogging the holes.
