The cooling fan relay is located in the engine compartment just behing the left headlamp...not under the dash. There are cooling fan test connectors built into the wiring harness near the left strut tower. The cooling fan relay is controlled by the cooling fan temperature switch located on the rear of the engine. There are 3 temperature sending units on your car if it is equipped with a temperature gauge. If not, there are 2 sending units, One is for the computer and the other is for the fan relay.

The one for the cooling fan will have 2 wires, one Tan and Orange and the other Brown and White.

The cooling fans and cooling fan relay get their power from fusible links built into the wiring harness near the starter relay.

There are more relays under the dash right side, I/P relay center ! Hi Ryan, check the fuse to the low beam, if your not getting power to the relay it will never work, the fact that you have 3 new relays they can't all be duff

2003 ford explorer sport blinker dont blink on the dashboard... How do I fix it??

if the bulbs on outside are ok, and it will not flash on dash and stays completely lite up. replace the turn signal flasher. Look under the steering column and locate the fuse box. The fuse box is under the plastic kick panel. Under the panel is a yellow case that holds the turn signal relay. Test that this is the relay by turning it on and placing a finger on the relay. You should be able to feel the relay clicking. Pull the relay from the socket and plug a new one back in. Reattach the kick panel and start the Explorer. good-day !

Electric fan wont kick in jeep over heats replaced thermostat and two sender units

Sounds like your cooling fan relay is bad the jeep grand cherokees are known for this, first thing i would do is unplug the radiator cooling fan and run 2 jumper wires direct from the battery to the fan connector if the fan kicks on your fan motor is good and the relay is bad, if the fan doesnt kick on replace the fan motor with a new unit, the cooling fan relay on your particular model jeep is located under the passenger headlight and requires you remove the front bumper to replace it, however some people cut a small hole under the headlight to access the relay the faster way but if your not to keen on cutting holes in your car remove the bumper and replace the relay if the fan checks out and you wont be overheating anymore...

I have a 97 dodge grand caravan that has a cooling fan problem. I have replaced the fans, radiator, col temp sens, fan relay, fuses and the fan still does not come on. i did notice the previous owner cut...

Make sure the fans are well grounded. You can temporarily jump 12 volts from the battery to the fans in order to check if they work. The new relay also could have been compromised if the wiring was incorrect before.

Cooling fans wont come on 1992 nissan maxima

To check power turn on AC if fans work it is the fan thermostat. I not then it is electrical fuses (dash under radiator overflow, next to battery) or check plug on shroud for corrosion.

1990 buick century 3.3 engine cooling fan wont come on.

The fan switch is under the alternator. The turn on temp is 238. Have you checked power at the relay? If you ground the wire at the the temp switch does the fan come on?

My radiator fan does not work under any conditions, all fuses ok, wondering which relay is it to check conditions, thanks

Here are the cooling system diagnostic steps...First does the cooling fan kick on (with engine hot)? If not, check the fuse, if good then check the thermoswitch in the radiator (it's about an inch and a half in diameter located on the lower part of the radiator with two wires ) by disconnecting the wires and touching them together (again, with engine hot...at least 190 degrees) if the fan comes on, you have a bad switch. If not connect a 10 gauge jumper wire from the battery to the fan itself (there are three terminals,,, one high, one low and ground). With power direct from the battery (and a ground wire, if necessary) fan should run... if not replace the fan assembly... if it does run then you have a bad cooling fan relay. It will be located above the fuses on the fuse block... Hope this helps...;-)
