Question about Orion TVDVD092 9 in. TV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

Does anyone know if there is a fuse for the 12 volt system in these ac/dc models. Mine came on for a second and then stopped when I attempted to use the cigarette lighter function, yet will still work on 110 house power.

Yes! there is a fuse located inside the set on the main board, make sure your the set is unplugged before you remove the back cover, next follow the 12volt line cord to the main circuit board, there should be a small gma glass fuse right where the wire is. Check the polarity of the 12volt cord to make sure it will work.

DM Board WS48511 Green Blinking Light

If you do not already know where your problem is then Check for 12 volts DC (AC-off detect) at pin 3 of PC9A21, if missing replace PC9A21 part # 268P058020 on the Power PCB. LED does not blink at plug in. Check for 5-volts DC at connector RF pin 3 (system reset) if low or missing suspect the reset switch S7L20 part # 432P089010 on the Control PCB. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds . LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 4.7 volts DC at connector RF pin 4 and 5 on the Signal PCB if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D587002 5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector RF pin 4 and 5 check good suspect the E2P PCB part # 935C978002 . Also if you can do a self diagnosis test by pressing the device and menu for 5 sec on panel of set and read the error codes.

How many volts I have a charger that has different volts which one to set it on I have a whistler 1610 just trying to put the charger on the right voltage

Most automotive electronics work on a 12 Volt DC system. You must be using adapter capable of providing about 12 to 14 volts because car batteries provide 12 volts; but car alternators put out 13.8 volts. Do not attempt to connect to an adapter that put out AC voltage!

Kawasaki vn2000 not charging how do you test system

voltage from stator or alternator is measured in AC volts after it passes through the voltage regulator it is measured in DC volts.the volts at low rpms should be around 12 and go up to 14 or so when rpms are increased. not sure what proper AC volts should be (mine are aprox. 45-50)at isolated stator wires, they are not measured against ground but against one-another

Was working perfectly about two weeks ago--now the green timer light will not stop blinking and the unit will not turn on--I have unplugged the unit for reboot and tried the system reset to no...

Here are few items to check:

1. Check for 12 volts DC (AC-off detect) at pin 3 of PC9A21, if missing replace PC9A21 part # 268P058020 on the Power PCB.

2. LED does not blink at plug in. Check for 5-volts DC at connector RF pin 3 (system reset) if low or missing suspect the reset switch S7L20 part # 432P089010 on the Control PCB.

3.LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check for 12 volts at connect or PF pin 10 and 28 volts at connector PF pin 11, if the supplies are correct suspect a problem in the DM Assembly (part # 955C230001)

4. LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad, replace them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). See service tip VS-76

5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds

6. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 4.7 volts DC at connector RF pin 4 and 5 on the Signal PCB if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D587001

7. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector RF pin 4 and 5 check good suspect the E2P PCB part # 935C978001
More then likely it is NUMBER 4, replace all caps if they look/check good or not.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Can I use a 5 amp 240v AC domestic fuse to replace 5 amp 12v fuse

A fuse is rated for it's current carrying capacity so yes you can use a 240 volt 5 Amp fuse in a 12 Volt circuit.
The Voltage is given to indicate the insulation of the fuse, i.e. if you used a 12 volt fuse in a 240 Volt circuit it may arc and therefore is not suitable. You can always use a fuse with a higher voltage rating in a lower voltage rated circuit.
A 5 Amp fuse will carry 5 Amps indefinately and will only blow at 2 or three times it's rated current.

Diffrence bwetween ac in volts and dc

DC is direct current and AC is alternating current.

eg; 12 volts DC stays 12 volts constantly, positive or negative.

12 volts AC (at 60 Hertz or cycles per second) alternates from positive to negative then back to positive voltage again 60 times per second.

Good Day, TSIRS; Try all of these: This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 1.
