SOURCE: Samsung S85 camera , USB Error?

Check the USB port on the camera for signs of debris or corrosion. There also is a USB driver chip on the main system board that could go out, but that is pretty rare. Maybe your pet chewed on your USB cord. Double check.

How do I download pictures from a AT&T Z221 to my PC using a USB cord?

Plug the USB cord from the camera into the USB port on your computer. The computer should see the camera as an external storage device. You can then click on the storage device and open the folder and copy the photos to your computer.
ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

1) how do I charge my Nikon S3000 camera? I only have a cable that connects the camera to the pc. Am I misssing a cable or is this how it should charge? 2) my pc (Windows 7) cannot find the drivers for...

Use the USB cord to charge the camera. Just make sure you're connected directly to a powered USB port, not going through a hub.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My problem is i cant down load my picture to the computer any more

IF you have plug-n-play capabilities, you also need a USB cord that goes from the camera to the computer - Many have USB ports on the front, now.

1) Plug the USB cord into the computer.
2) Plug the USB cord into the camera.
3) Turn the camera on (some cameras have a setting they need to be on to transfer pics - make sure you're set on that)
4) The computer should find the appropriate drivers and programs to read the pictures on the camera.
4a) If having them on the computer is enough for you, make sure the "delete when transfer complete" box that will be in most programs.
4b) Make sure the pix will download to the folder you want them two.
4c) if you want to make an album/folder for the set of pix from the camera, do so now (program prompts should show you how. If not, hit "HELP") - I usually just use the date in reverse - Feb 20, 2008 would be "20080208" - keeps 'em sorted in order.
5) Click GO, SUBMIT, TRANSFRER, or whatever your program calls it.
6) Turn off camera when all are downloaded.

The program should probably open the folder into which you downloaded the pictures.

I may have missed a step or two, but it should be fairly easy to figure out. You can leave the USB port cable plugged in, if you have enough ports, then all you need to do is connect your camera and turn it on.

thanks.

I have a Canon PowerShot G9 camera. When i plug it into usb cord to dowload pictures, i get the error message "Communication Error" across the viewing screen of the camera.

The problem I believe is the sequence or flow of the connection.
With the camera turned off. Connect the USB cable to a computer USB port and the other end to the camera digital port turn the camera on by using the "Playback" button here is a diagram

Place diagram here

You know there is an easier and better way of transferring picture files and that's by using a memory card reader. A memory card reader plugs into the USB port of a computer and the camera memory card is inserted into the reader slot. The computer then looks at this as an external Hard Drive. Both methods will need you to format the memory card after the images have been downloaded to the computer. Formatting the memory card in the camera in which it is to be used will clean the card and making it compatible with the camera both the camera and memory card can then communicate without errors.

Sony camera says Switch on [MENU] when i upload pic from USB cord

1) Try uninstalling then re-installing your Sony software.

2) When you connect to the PC and switch on, Click on Start - "My Computer". Your hard drives and disk drives should appear in the window.

Have a good look, is there a new drive, it may be called Sony, or USB mass storage device it may just be called drive E or F.

If so double click on that drive, if there's a folder there, double click on there, with luck you should see your pictures, that new drive is really your camera.

You should be able to move pictures by copy and pasting. Once copied you can deleted them from your camera.

3) You can buy a device called a "Memory card reader" Make sure its good for sony memory sticks.
You take you card from you camera and put it in the card reader. Then, once plugged into a USB port its just like another HDD as described in 2.

4) I should have said this first, try another USB port if you can, it my just be dust in the port making life hard............

Good Luck.

I am unable to download my pics onto my computer. As soon as I plug in cord going into the "AV/Out Digital" spot on the camera, the camera turns off. It will not stay on. I checked the battery and it is...

All cameras do this. As soon as you plug in the cord, the display will turn black. It is completely normal.
If the pictures aren't showing up on computer, make sure the latest drivers are downloaded for your camera. Also you can use, picture transfer or kodak easy share program to download.
Another way is to go to 'my computer" than either f: or g: drive should have your camera on it. You can access pictures here and drag n drop into another file.
