Whirlpool gold catalyst washer front panel and pump
How do I take the front panel off my Whirpool Gold Catalyst Washer and check the pump? My clothes smell like something was burnt in the wash and my pump was replaced 2 months ago so I really want to check
Re: Whirlpool gold catalyst washer front panel and pump
Two screws in the back of the unit on the corners of the control unit unscrew them and lift up and back on the control under the control there are two gold colored clips that have to be pried up from the front to release the cabinet from the base I had to take the whole tub apart the problem seems to be caused by over use of fabric softener the shaft from the holding tank that the agitator tank sits on gunks up with softener residue and acts like a brake and won't let the washer spin to get rid of the water it's not that hard to do just remember that when you put the cabinet back on that the front goes under the base and the sides sit on top of the base on two little points

LD = Long Drain... "Ld" flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. could be a bad pressure switch, the pressure hose, the water pump.. those are good places to start.
I have a top load Kenmore Gold Catalyst Cleaning Action washer that is stuck on permanent press mode. The digital display reads 8 min. and will not turn off or clear. When it is turned on the, the timer goes to 37 minutes and beeps repeatedly through all cycles. It will not clear even when I unplug it. How do I fix this annoying thing!!? Thoughts please.
a large load will sometimes get out of the top of the tub and cause the lid switch mounts to break and then the unit wont spin or drain. just look under the top and if you see the lid switch just hanging or not in the right place then replace the lid switch.
Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.
FF on the catalyst models means the following. Let me know if you need more info or would like a link to where you can obtain a service manual for your washer.
If the transducer signals a high or a low water level for more than 16
seconds the washer will shut off and FF will flash.
• Press the RINSE OPTIONS button and select DRAIN/SPIN to drain
• Check the water level transducer hose and wire connections.
• Also check the pressure dome hose to be sure they are properly
• Check the water level transducer, see TEST #7.
