Question about Garmin GPS
After adding 2009 European maps to my American maps Nuvi 350, I lost all voice navigation. I still heard the beep when I touched the screen, but no speech during navigation. I fixed it my running webupdater from garmin.com and updated the American English voices. Several of the languages have updates. Everything works fine now.

I had this problem with the 760. Solved by going to settings>language and discovering I had no choice for "voice". I pressed that selection and picked american english and my problem was solved. Garmin support said sometimes the program gets corrupted and that choice needs to be made again.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Try this: Hold the power buuton down, you will see on the lower screen the word "Pre Booting - ". Keep holding the power button for about 60 second, then you will see on the lower screen "Booting".
This time, release power button; system will reboot and loading map... again.
I got the same problem, after research on the web. Nick 99990_0 had post this solution on (his Nuvi 660) but it work for my Nuvi 350 too. Good luck.

Heres what to do:
- Connect to computer using USB cable
- Flip up antenna and hit reset button.
- The unit should power up.
- Then put unit on wall charge to get a full charge.
That should do it if not call 1-800 800 1020.

I had the same dismountingproblems with a 360, but i found the solution. When you look behind de GPS-unit at the top of the case there are two little screws hidden. You have to dismount the GPS first to get to those screws. To dismount the GPS, open this unit with the two visible torcscrews. Open the GPS with little force and turn the cap clockwise and it will come loose. Look to the left into the plactic case where the GPS antenne is found. Then put a very small screwdriver in the shaft case (on the leftside you see a little whole 4 x 1 mm). If you put a little pressure on the screwdrive while moving it to the right you will feel a spring. Its working like a springconnection between a watch and a watchstrap. When you dismount the GPS look out for damaging the electrical connection. Then you can dismount the torcscrews and the maincase. When you open the case you 1 screw in the middle in the circuitboard. be very careful everything is very small.

SOURCE: nuvi 350 on off problems
This is a common problem with the Nuvi series. The on/off switch is a surface mount switch that is mounted vertically off of the main PC board.
The problem is, that there is no support behind the switch, so when you press down the button, the solder leads of the switch are stressed and eventually break off the main PC board. This is a design flaw and could have been easily prevented by wedging a small piece of plastic between the rear of the switch and the SD card housing to give the switch support.
Also, the solder pads for the mechanical connections of the switch could have been made bigger, allowing for more surface area and more solder application.
I have repaired many of these before and I'll be posting a step-by-step procedure on how to fix this and prevent it from happening again.
I must point out however, that in order to make this repair, you will need to have skills in dissassembly and soldering.
Also, please only attempt this procedure if your unit is out of warranty.

I can't do it for you, but I have done it myself. See the instructions on my webpage at www.dacust.com/nuvi350/index.html. Pictures and everything, along with where I got my battery and the part number, etc. Warning, there are many opportunities to damage your unit doing this. Not for the novice.
