Lens keeps moving in and out, plus, the screen is blurry

When I turn my camera on, the lens goes crazy. And when I look at the screen, it's blurry and the lens is zooming in and out. The batteries are charged and I can view the pictures. But when I take pictures, it turns out blurry too. What do I do>

Yes I have the exact same problem.. i have tried using  Alkaline batteries rather than the rechargables,  this worked ok on only 1 occasion. The problem remains.. any ideas?
As far as weatherproof goes.. this camera has had the problem for several months.. I dont think the weather matters.. its never been in water.. or even got damp.. so ??
Plz e mail garyplaton@yahoo.com if you find an answer someplace. Thanx

Set the camera back to factory default options and the try it. A wrong lens program setting can cause a similar set of symptoms.r

When I turn camera on lens error 111 shows up on screen and goes right off and lens does not come out

Make sure all the moving parts of the lens are free to move. If you dropped the camera or spilled something sticky on the lens part, it may be stuck and the camera cannot turn on.

Try this at you own risk:

1. Try jiggling the lens with your fingers while turning on the camera, helping it to pull out.
2. If there is something sticky keeping the lens from opening, try to use a warm damp cloth to dissolve it.
3. If nothing works, bring it to a repair center. You may also try the solutions provided in this other fixya article.

Try cleaning the lens gently with a lens cloth or maybe a damp paper towel? Other than that - you may have something stuck in your lens that is making everything blurry when you zooom in...or the lens may need to be replaced to be fully functional. Do you notice any blurry spots when you zoom out that get bigger when you zoom in? If so something may be stuck in your lens. Good luck!

Have blurry image - how do you fix it- Logitech Quickcam for Notebook

On the camera, the plastic around the lens rotates, that is used for focus. Open a video feed from the camera and adjust it until the image is clear. The lens might also need to be cleaned if it has got dirty, use a qtip with water or alcohol to clean the lens on the outside.

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens problems.

It may be something more serious, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion buildups may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera. Assuming that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, this takes care of about 90% of the startup problems. I hope it works for you.

This would need to be serviced something is wrong with the auto focus and this is inside the lens housing. I would take it into a camera shop and have the examin the autofocus.

FE-280 Lens Blurry Photos and no zoom turns off

You have a bad lens. Unless the camera is in warranty the cost of repairing the lens is higher than the value of your camera. The strange noise you hear is the lens motor trying to move the lens. One solution is to blow compressed air around the lens. Sometimes dust and dirt may jam the lens.
