I am on parole here in Oregon and do not have a credit card. I was hoping to find a program that would fix the "possiblly" deleted file that used to run this camcorder. Windows Media Player 11 auto started and listed the video recently took. If it works why fix it... Further I believe whats needed is to reload the software that came installed on the camcorder. I appreciate your response.

I used Windows Media Player 11. Do I get paid for this info, or am I screwed for giving it before payment?

Ha! Ha!

I have a Pure Digital PSV-351 Camcorder, and I was wondering if there was any sort of memory card to use with it, and if so what kind.

The camera is a point and shoot type camera which does not support any kind of memory card. You are just going to have to record the 30 minutes of video and transfer the footage directly to your PC.

Software will not download on mac.

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this, as the software is built-in to the camera. The only thing I can suggest is that you take it back to the store that you got it from, and inform them that the software for your product doesn't work. They should replace your camcorder, or refund your money...depending on what their return policy is.

Determine how the camcorder works. There are 3 basic modes of capturing stills with a camcorder. Read your instruction manual for specific information.
  • Step 2 Understand freeze-frame stills. The most common and least effective method is a "photo mode." Basically, the camcorder will simply freeze a frame of video for a few seconds, which can then be extracted later as a still.
  • Step 3 Use editing software to capture stills. This method is similar to the first, and can be done with any camcorder. Download an editing program or use the camcorder's bundled software. Then transfer the video over to your computer and use the software to pull out stills.
  • Step 4 Understand built-in digital cameras. This is a more expensive option, but results in higher quality photos. These cameras have built-in memory cards and function basically the same as a stand-alone digital camera. Refer to the manual to switch over to digital camera mode, then point and shoot. The photo quality is usually a bit lower than from a stand-alone camera.
  • Step 5 Compare specifications. Understand that specifications for high quality video don't necessarily translate to high quality stills. CCD determines the quality of video, while megapixels determine the quality of stills.
  • Step 6 Consider the value. Whether or not a combination digital camera and camcorder is best for you depends on how you'll be sharing your photos
