just don't pay the renewal fee
go into control panel, uninstall programs and uninstall the mcfee program
however be warned that when it is gone, you will get virus, malware and trojan horse into the computer and not even know it
best to have another virus protection system ready to install immediately

I'm not sure what do you mean by a "google chrome virus"
If you mean if there is possible a trojan for a googlebook, answer is YES but simply resetting your computer, you can get rid of it, though eventually, not from the effects.

Trojan virus promblem after open *** webside

Follow the given instructions to remove Trojan Virus from your PC.
1. Launch an antivirus program that you should have installed on your computer, such as Symantec's Norton or McAfee. Wait for the program's window to appear, then go to "Disk View." Highlight your computer, then select "Scan/Repair" so that the antivirus can detect the Trojan and trash it.
2. Exit the antivirus program on your Mac. Restart your computer again to ensure that the Trojan has been deleted. Empty the trash can on your computer once it is back up and running.
3. Disable the System Restore feature if you're a Windows user. Go to "Start" at the bottom of your screen, then right-click the "My Computer" icon to go to "Properties." Check "Turn off System Restore" under the System Restore tab in the "Properties" window, then select "Apply." Confirm that you want to disable System Restore by clicking "Yes" and "OK."
4. Update your virus definitions in your antivirus program. Open the program, or go to the website, to download the latest definitions so that you can receive the most recent alerts and keep your computer protected.
5. Scan your files to detect the Trojan file. Follow the instructions in your antivirus program to delete any suspicious files. You may want to write down the path and file name of the Trojan, which is usually found in the "C:\" hard drive. Then, edit your computer's backup registry by choosing "Start," then "Run." Type "regedit" in the window that appears and click "OK."
6. Search for the registry entry from which the Trojan derived, which may begin with "HKEY" followed by the file path. Delete the registry entry to ensure that the Trojan is removed. Exit the registry entry, and restart your computer so that the changes can take effect.

My mail won't open on this computer, but will open on another computer

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

From the sounds of your issue, it may be that you have malware or a Trojan. You can run a scan using this free malware/antivirus protection. I am not sure which antivirus you are currently using but this one is free and has excellent reviews. You will need to uninstall your current antivirus protection first before installing this one.

Malware/Trojans can disable your antivirus programs and make it look like everything is running smoothly. By running a complete scan with another program, you can get the malware out. Even the best antivirus can be disabled.

Please let me know I can be of further assistance.

Get oops message when trying to access many functioning web sites

Hi Karen, thank you for using Fixya's services.

It sounds like your browser has been hijacked. This is caused by malware that gets in the computer and causes you to be redirected to another website or the error message.

I would recommend a full scan of the computer. Sometimes the malware can take over your antivirus software as well and make it look like you are protected, even the paid antivirus.

I use kaspersky to clean computers out. It is not free but I use the free trial, install, clean and then put another back on (whichever you were using). You also have the option to purchase it if you like it. Make sure to uninstall all antivirus software before adding another as you cannot have two antivirus softwares on one computer...they don't play well together.

Once you have done this, your computer will be good to go.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Virus blocking internet access - how do i fix

Obviously you got an infection. In addition to that message and the fact that you cannot go to the internet, you probably don't have acces to the Folder Options on the Tools menu...Use a antivirus to clean it, Kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads really does a good job on this kind of infections, orUse the System Restore application, and choose to restore your computer to an early date when you know it was working properly. When you get everything under control, take a look at Pc Laptop Guard at www.labellpcslutions.com to protect your computer from future issues.

NORTON 360 STATES 'PHISHING PROTECTION EXPIRED' WHEN IT HASN'T.

This is a billing problem on Symantec's end that neither you or we can resolve. You will have to contact Symantec (manufacturer of Norton) and ask them to kindly resolve this issue. You will have to provide proof of purchase and all that good stuff. Their contact details are located on this web-page. As long as you paid for the Norton 360, everything is bought and paid for until the expiration date and shouldn't expire prior to that date (Unless this is a new business practice of Symantec, wouldn't surprise me you know).

I just have to say this, though. You would be better off with ESET's Smart Security. Uses less system resources and does a much better job defending your system from attacks.

I hope you get the issue resolved.
