Could be a number of reasons, But there should be a fuse on the amp, it may have just blown the fuse. If the fuse is fine then it may just be at end of life. Most amps that I have dealt with have a lifespan of about 3-5 yrs, maybe 7 if you are lucky. Let's just check the fuse, or just replace the fuse and see how we go from there.

Hi, Got problem with my amp. Sudenly it has stopped working. It is got a 2 x 20 amp fuses. One of them has blown up. When I have tried to change it , I have noticed that electric sparks and lightly smoke...

My guess is that you had it turned up so high for so long you melted something. This would be from large current draw over extended period of time with inadequate ventilation for the resulting heat. I have done this myself, so I feel your pain.

If you are feeling brave, you could open it up and look for any charred or melted wiring, and replacing it with a patch wire. If you see any evidence of scorching or melting on any of the circuit boards instead, it's not worth fixing.

Since it is a Pyle amp (which is actually just a re-branded Pyramid), it would probably cost the same to just replace it with a new one or from eBay.

Good luck!

I have all alpine speakers, deck, amp, and subs. My subs were working for about a year until one time i started my car and they keep cutting in and out .. at times they will work but then they cut off...

Sounds like blown subs, in the process of completely dying out, or a loose wire, possibly inside the box or from the box to the amp. Have your subs tested at a sound shop, or using a multi-meter, check for resistance across the sub terminals. An open line indicates a blown sub.

JL Amp isn't powering subs and speakers

just go through ur connections man one by one ull find the prob soon.....check teminals on battery...power line to amp ....all fuses within prob area and obviously make sure u have a good ground.....really impotant.....ground is the most neglected thing people do from my experience bein a audio tech oh and if that isnt it check ur subs....stick a 9v batt on the back pos n neg of each sub n c if they pop in r out this will determine if ur subz r blown

Most likely one of your subs are blown, or the Ohm's are too low for the ampliphier. Try hooking up one speaker at a time to the amp and see if it does the same thing. If it shuts off on one of the two speakers, that speaker is most likely blown.

Either the speaker is shorted out (blown), or the output transistors in the amplifier are bad. Try hooking up another speaker to the amp. If it plays, the amp is good. If not, then the amp is bad.
