hi nusscourteny take the battery out of the phone. Feel the battery and see if the batery is swollen in the middle. I want you to plug the charger into your phone and see if the charger is charging the phone. Ok now you can take a toothbrush and clean all the contacts and see if their is any corrision inside the charging port. Hope this helps. Cleaning the phone with a new toothbrush and a can air.

Code to be able to use any charger for a Motorola W385 Cell phone

There is no code to be able to use a charger on your phone.

You can try using a universal charger to charge the battery.

If chargers are not working on your phone, then it means the charging port of your phone is faulty.

Have it fixed and you will be able to use your charger.

Take care

The charging port was lose to begin with whenever i would plug my batt. charger in it. then one day I was jiggling around to get the phone to charge pulled it out and pushed it in and one of the metal tabs...

If one of the metal is bent up and your phone is not charging then you would need to replace the charging port of your phone. Before replacing the charging port you could use a desktop charger for the main time while you get your charging port replaced.

Universal charger for w385 does not want to charge my phone. once i plug it into the phone, it says unable to charge.

the problem might be from the phone, the charger, or the battery.

to confirm it if it is the phone, try a similar charger on the phone and see what it says, if it does the same then it is the phone.

to test if it is the battery, try inserting the battery in another phone and try charging it tosee what it says again.

then try testing the universal charger by trying it on another motorola w385 to see what it says.

which ever it is you detect the problem from, then you can replace it.

My brand new w385 is displaying the message "unable to charge". I am using the charger supplied to me by motorola. wtf?

Check the contacts between phone and battery, if necessary align or clean. Are you using original Motorola charger? This solved my problem; I was trying to charge it with one of those "universal" chargers.

Hope this helps!

Won't Charge! :-(

Hi. these situations are mostly caused by a bent or broken copper prong that is located within the input charger port that is inside the phone housing.

When you insert the charge cord into the input port, there are copper prongs that will have to connect to each other and , this contact point will transfer the necessary current to the cell for a proper charge.

If the prongs are damage in any way due to broken copper or, bent copper prongs, this will prevent the necessary current from flowing to the cell.

Most remedies are crude like using a tooth pick or paper clip to straighten out the prongs inside the port. these methods do more harm than good and i recommend sending this phone in for a input port transplant. the manufacture or local repair depot is the best repair solution for this situation.

There is one thing that i would do before sending it to the repair depot. try using a completely different battery cell. if you purchase a new battery and the charger continues to not charge, this will confirm the input port failure.

Please rate and god bless:)
