All the caps with the white paste or dots in the middle or swollen tops (convex) need to be replaced and jointly could be responsible for your hassle. Don't confuse a leaking ca with one that has some real hard epoxy like material or glue (usually white) holding it in place.

SOURCE: Hi, My Viewsonic vg2021wm says "No signal digital"

The white stuff is adhesive to keep the parts in place during wave soldering of the PCB.
Do the caps have flat tops and no bugling seals at the bottom?
See the pictures here of the bad caps and the white adhesive:

Little white dots in tv modle# wdt657 what are they how can i get them off

Your TV is DLP projection TV. DLP is Digital Light Processing. Digitally processed light coming out of DMD (Digital Micro mirror Device) is projected on the TV screen. This DMD is made of thousands of tiny mirrors & the size is about 0.7 inch. These mirrors are fixed with tiny hinges for its movement. They reflect light as per processed signal. DLP is invented by Texas Instruments. When there are dots on the screen, that means the tiny mirrors representing the dots are stuck in its position. If the dots are few & the viewing is bearable, just leave as it is. If the dots are more than bearable then you will have replace the DMD chip which is quite costly.

The monitor display"No Signal Digital" when start up, and later the minitor turn black.

It may not be getting the signal from your PC, I would try it with another PC first to make sure it is not PC's Video card problem, otherwise it may have problem inside like unsteady DC voltages due to bad caps as shown in my pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Viewsonic%20VX2235W/

White dot on my samsung DLP 42" screen

Hi,
white dot is from a failure in the dlp chip. it controls 1000s of tiny mirrors which help make up your pix, when the mirrors get stuck a white dot appears. over time more will pop up. Probably in the $300-$500 range to have someone repair.

Had one last week and now there are 6. they are

Hi,

You get white spots inside the samsung DLP tv due to bad Digital Micromiror Device , or bad DMD board .

What is actually the problem is the DMV chip connected to this board . Inside this chip are 3 million tiny mirrors ,and when they physically get stuck , they either show black or white instead of a color
This is well know problem with SAMSUNG DLP...

The DMD chip is failing. If not under warranty expect to pay a few hundred to several hundred to get it fixed

The mirrors on the DLP chip are slowly sticking either fully open (white) or fully closed (black). The part that contains the DLP chip is the Light Engine. It is the most expensive part of the TV.Only the Samsung TVs has this issue.

Replacing the DLP chip and the micro mirror would solve this issue...

Pleaserate this solution,
