Soleus tank full light stays on even when bucket and float are inserted properly. I can depress little black "button" and the tank full light will go off, thus activating the unit, but the moment Iet go, the unit stops running and the light goes back on.

The 25 pint Frigidaire dehumidifer has stopped running and continues to show the "full flashing red light" even when it isn't, and will not stay on. Any solutions? Thanks Kirk J.

Kirk, the problem you're experiencing is generally caused by 2 reasons. The bucket was not reinstalled properly or the float valve in the top of the tank is either broken or stuck in the UP position.

First turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then remove the bucket and check the float valve in the top of the bucket. Jiggle the float valve's arm to make sure it moves freely and that it is in the DOWN position. If it's not broken, reinstall the bucket making sure that it fits "squarely" from top to bottom and is making contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the rear wall of the bucket holder. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all.

If the float valve is broken, you can purchase new one from Frigidaire.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Water light is on ,Water tank is full but the light stays on

If the water tank stays full it indicates that the pump cannot function properly.
Before first use, the Sirena pump needs to be 'primed'. This is indicated by the blinking blue 'water' LED. On a new machine (or a refurbished one as in my case), empty the water container first, then
  • remove the plastic water container
  • activate the small spring valve mechanism built into the bottom of the water tank.
This plastic valve mechanism could initially be hard to depress, because the small metal spring is too strong, or the entire mechanism may be stuck altogether. Exercise this spring and the small valve a few times (ok: 10 times).
  • once the spring-loaded valve moves freely (it becomes easy to depress with your finger), the pump will have no problem activating the spring mechanism and starts sucking water out of the tank:
  • refill with filtered water almost to the top and observe the floating magnet (fill indicator) now in its UP position. You will have to refill the water after a few shots and using steam.
  • Press the ON/OFF button and open the steam knob clockwise all the way until you can hear the pump working and a steady stream of water escapes... onto the floor, or if you're smart, into a small container.
  • Once primed, the pump can operate and in turn, the machine starts heating up.
  • Now you can make your espresso, and even try the steam wand after it shoots out a short stream of water. Once you have steam coming out of the wand, you can start getting serious about making your brew...
I believe that a lot of problems, like failure to heat up, machine doesn't work, etc. are caused by this small spring mechanism being a little hard to operate initially. The Sirena is programmed to operate ONLY if it can extract water out of the tank.

Try it and enjoy the superb cappucino, espresso, etc. -the beautiful Sirena was born in Italy and is a little temperamental, but will be your best friend with a little help in the mechnical department (Think FIAT). By the way: I am a German engineer -no kidding.

I drained the water and checked the filter then i push the on button and it won't come on

This problem usually occurs when the bucket is not properly reinstalled in it's holder or the the float valve in the tank is stuck in the UP position, if your unit is so equipped.

In either case, you will have to remove the bucket. Check for the float valve and if yours has one, make sure it moves freely. Then reinstall the bucket, making sure it fits "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom and makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch, on the back interior wall of the holder. When the bucket is installed properly, the bottom should not tilt down at all.

Be sure to turn the unit OFF & unplug it, before removing the bucket to check the above.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Red light stays on blinking tank is in properly and not full. Setting adjustments don't help

Remove the bucket and check the top of it for a float valve, if yours is so equipped. The float valve arm may be stuck in the "UP" position. If so, jiggle the arm of the valve to make it return to the down position. Then reinstall the bucket making sure it fits "squarely' in the holder from top to bottom and makes contact with the bucket safety removal, on the back wall of the bucket holder.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The drawer is empty of water but the signal says 'full'. Is there a broken part? Thank you, Eileen

No, probably not. Either the float valve in the top of the bucket (drawer) is stuck in the 'UP' position or the bucket wasn't installed properly.

For the stuck float valve. Remove the bucket and look in the right or left corner of the bucket for the float valve. If it's stuck in the 'UP' position, jiggle the handle to make it return to the 'DOWN' position.

When reinstalling the bucket into it's holder (whether it had a float valve or not), be sure that it fits "squarely" from top to bottom into the holder. It should not tilt down at the bottom. The bucket must make firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch inside the holder.

Hope this helps you to troubles shoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Remove the water tank and look or feel up to where the float is at and see if it is stuck in the raised position. This is what is keeping the light on and not letting the compressor start.

Says water tank is full when I plug it in

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Remove the water collection bucket. Look inside to see if there is a float valve device near the top of the tank.If there is, it's stuck in the UP position. Jiggle it, to make it return to the DOWN position. Once it goes down, reinsert it into the bucket holder.

If your unit does not have a Float Valve, when you reinsert it back into it's holder, it has to trigger the bucket removal safety switch. To make sure it does that, insert "squarely" in the bucket holder making sure that it's square from top to bottom. The bottom of the tank should not tilt downward, if it is inserted properly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Bucket full light will not go off and unit will not operate (there is no water in the bucket).

The bucket full light is controlled by a manual 'float' switch in the bucket itself
-when the water level rises...it lifts the float ...turns on the light and does not allow the unit to operate because it believes it is full.

It is very common for the 'float' to gets misaligned, hung-up, etc. when you remove and re-insert the bucket. Sometimes the 'chain' gets twisted, turned...which does not allow the float to ...float...rather it is 'hung-up' which indicates it is 'full'...when in fact it is clearly not.

To check this:
  • remove bucket from unit
  • look into the top of the bucket opening to locate the 'float'...generally 2" round plastic ball on a shaft, (or chain)
  • softly cup the float in order to lift this up...with the unit stilll plugged in...to see if the light goes off...this is very likely
  • then be sure that the float mechanism is able to freely 'float' in the space....i.e. you are trying to simulate the impact of rising water levels in the bucket
  • as it rises (in your hand the machine will turn off/light on...as it drops....the light shuts off, allowing the machine to run (when humidity levels demand it)
  • then re-install the bucket....being very careful to lift the float, while you insert it...there is generally a little nack to it...but you quickly learn how to do it easily (I just reach into the space...cup the float...put the bucket on an angle...slide it in....release the float into the bucket...(remove hand)...then finish pushing the bucket into place
-hope this helps

Red light comes on for no reason. Danby DDR6588EE dehumidifier

I have a DDR4588EE (same model with 45 pint capacity) and had the exact same problem. It's caused by the float at the top of the bucket being in poor contact with the "full" detector button. When the bucket is not full, the float on the bucket is supposed to press against the button. When the bucket fills, the float is supposed to push up off the button which causes the unit to stop and the red light comes on. The problem is that for some reason, the float isn't pressing hard enough against the button to push it properly in when the bucket isn't full. I fixed it by sticking a few little squares of duct tape (3 or 4 layers) on the float to make it press the button more firmly. Seems to be working fine now. Careful not to put too much tape or it might press too firmly which would result in the float not releasing the button when the bucket is full, and water will spill over.

Full light stays on even though the unit is empty.cant turn unit off/on with button while full light is on.

Hi,
There may be a little rod of lever which is pressed by the float in the bucket when it is full - I suspect that it may be jammed in the "up" or "full" position.

If you can see it and pull it down to its normal position the machine should start again.
Hope this helps, but if not let me know what you find. Cheers, D.
