Soleus tank full light stays on even when bucket and float are inserted properly. I can depress little black "button" and the tank full light will go off, thus activating the unit, but the moment Iet go, the unit stops running and the light goes back on.

Once the 'condensate tank' is drained the unit will NOT reset....The tank full light stays in and the Unit continues to run the fan, but will not heat ...for HOURS........Help.....I realy did

When our unit was moved with a full condensate pan, the switch lever became lodged in the "full" position and the unit wouldn't heat. This is how I fixed it.

1. Unpug the unit.
2. Remove 8 screws from the housing.
3. Remove the rear housing, swinging the bottom away from the chassis.
4. Remove the front housing similarly, taking care to release the tabs from the vertical chassis rail, and avoid stressing the wire leads to the control panel.
5. The condernsate float and switch are at the right front at the base of the chassis. Assure that the float is free from obstruction and debris in the condensate pan. Assure that the switdh lever is free to travel to the limits.
6. Re-assemble the unit it reverse order.

The 25 pint Frigidaire dehumidifer has stopped running and continues to show the "full flashing red light" even when it isn't, and will not stay on. Any solutions? Thanks Kirk J.

Kirk, the problem you're experiencing is generally caused by 2 reasons. The bucket was not reinstalled properly or the float valve in the top of the tank is either broken or stuck in the UP position.

First turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then remove the bucket and check the float valve in the top of the bucket. Jiggle the float valve's arm to make sure it moves freely and that it is in the DOWN position. If it's not broken, reinstall the bucket making sure that it fits "squarely" from top to bottom and is making contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the rear wall of the bucket holder. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all.

If the float valve is broken, you can purchase new one from Frigidaire.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Do I need to empty the water collection tank to keep it from overflowing, if so how.

When the tank is FULL, the unit should automatically shut OFF and the FULL light will illuminate on the control panel. If that is not happening, the float valve inside the tank near the top, may be stuck in the DOWN position. Remove the bucket, look for the float valve and jiggle the handle to see that it moves freely and is not broken.

I hope this helped you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

I plug the Dehumidifier plug in it starts then stops and the red light blinks capacitor is good could it be the float switch because it runs when I first plug in or the relay. Thx john

John, since you didn't mention the brand or model number of your dehumidifier, so I can only tell you in general terms what may be happening.

If you unit has a float valve in the top of the water collection tank, remove the tank to see if it's stuck in the UP position. If it is, jiggle the float arm to make it return to the DOWN position. If however, yours does not have a float valve, the bucket removal safety switch may not be making firm contact with bucket. When installing the bucket, be sure that it fits "squarely" from top to bottom, into the bucket holder. And that the bucket does not tilt down at the bottom.

On most dehumidifiers, a red flashing light indicates that the bucket is full. If your is not full, it more than likely caused by what I listed above.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Remove the water tank and look or feel up to where the float is at and see if it is stuck in the raised position. This is what is keeping the light on and not letting the compressor start.

Our dehumider says "bucket full"

Sincce you didn't mention which brand and model # you have I will give you 21 solution.

If you have a float valve near the top of the bucket, it may be stuck in the UP position. Remove the bucket form it's holder and gingerly jiggle the the float valve's plastic arm and it should return to the Down position. If that doesn't work, spray a light coating of WD40 on it and jiggle it again.

If you don't have a float valve in the bucket, your system uses a safety trigger contact. Turn the unit OFF and unplug it from the wall outlet. Remove the bucket and reinsert it squarely from top to bottom. Make sure that the bottom is not tilted down at all. Plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/Off Switch to ON. If the bucket has been inserted properly, the Bucket Full Light will not illuminate. If does, repeat the procedure.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Red bucket full light stays on.

you need to check the float switch which sets just above,or in. the bucket, it could just be stuck or jammed it has to be able to move up and down to sense the water level.
There will be one that senses the bucket is in place that you can trick while you figure out and play with the float switch.

Soleus LX-140 leaking problem

We have a 1-year PE3-09R-03 that just started dripping water on the floor. The red "tank full" light never came on. I opened it up to investigate, and I believe the problems are caused by dust. The plastic float that trips the "tank full" switch appears to have gotten stuck due to the combination of water and dust in the tray. Once I loosened it up and cleaned the guide tube it rides in, it would trip the switch when the tank was full. The reason the tank was filling up was a little less obvious. There is a 2-piece plastic tray that sits underneath the evaporator and above the condenser. The tray is supposed to distribute the water that's dripping from the cold evaporator coils onto the warm condenser coils so it can evaporate and be blown out with the warm exhaust air (note that "evaporator" and "condenser" are referring to the refrigerant - the terms appear backwards when referring to what's happening to the water on the outside). The tray and its lid have a series of tiny holes that were - guess what - plugged by dust. The tray is relatively easy to remove, just two screws and a spring clamp on the overflow hose. The tray lid is heat-staked onto the tray, you should be able to clean it without separating the lid. I cleaned and reinstalled the tray and verified that water would flow properly. I then reassembled the unit and fired it up, and it's been running without a puddle for over a day in humid weather.
The unit has a filter for the recirculating room air, but there is no filter for the outside air loop. Adding a filter would obviously help keep the dust out, but it could also reduce the cooling efficiency of the unit.
DO NOT use one of these on a floor you care about without some sort of emergency catch tray underneath!
