Something more than likely chipped off/broke from the impact of the drop. Have you tried opening the PSP? *Note - opening your PSP will void your warranty.

PSP BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON NOTHING ELSE

with the PSP being dropped, keep in mind that you might have a cracked board. Best thing to do if you have the tools is to open it and see if there are any cracks in the board, if there isnt' then look for loose cables and reseat them and see what happens.

If you still can't get the psp to turn on then the board is still bad and would need to be replaced or to get a new PSP.

Wont stay on

got this same problem before, dropped a psp and after that it only powers on for a while and turns off.soon i found out that the main board is twisted.when i bend the psp a little bit it turns on normally, but when i release the prissure from the grip it shuts down.the best solutiion for that is to dismantle the psp and reheat the main board using a hot air machine for about 3 min.for the mother board to return to its original position.

Psp blackness

dropped it? if yes, you must have a hardware problem. like notebooks, when dropped becomes black because of the light inside of it breaking with the impact.
or must be a contact problem.

in the best case, just update it the last version.
