I worked in a Sony warranty center for years...these units had a manufacturing problem that would cause many problems to arise...the grounds inside the unit would not make proper connection and cause all sorts of problems...this sounds like it may be the problem, of course there may be other causes too...simply put, if you know how to solder, then you can try to fix the unit yourself...you need to find the grounding screws that ground the circuits inside, then you will need some pieces of wire to "bond" all of the grounding points together. If that does not solve the problem, then the problem may be either in the switching IC or possibly the microprocessor...If the microprocessor is bad then I wouldn't even consider fixing as the cost of a microprocessor is veery high

Please make sure that you have selected the correct function.Press the Function/Standby button to select Radio,Tape or CD mode in the boombox.Press the volume +/- buttons to increase or decrease the volume on your RCA RCD135 Cassette/CD Boombox. Also check the display and make sure that the volume level is adjusting when pressing the buttons.

My gpx karoke machine will not play at all power is on, shows cd number but no sound at all

Here are some things to try:
  1. Take the cd out, turn off the power, unplug the machine, plug it back in, turn on the power, put cd back in and try again.
  2. Check whether other cds play in it or if is it just this disc. Perhaps the disc is not compatible with the player. Might wanna check on that.
  3. Is the volume knob turned up?
  4. Does the mic work or is it just the cd? This will tell you if it is the disc or the machine that is not functioning properly.
  5. If no compatible disc works and the mic doesn't work and the volume is turned up, it "sounds" like the machine is defective.
Hope this helps. I'm a singer, so I wanna get you singing! Good luck.

When i turn my car on my cd player is full blast i cant find where to fix it

I want to know if you still can volume it down. If don't then your volume button sw for down was damaged. If still can, your cd player's memory is not functioning. Check the wiring of batt. memory back-up wire from the player, this must be connected to unswitch power supply. ( the power supply is always "ON")

Pioneer DEH-P4800MP - Can not get into INITIAL mode to change settings

Actually, TRY powering OFF the unit, and release the volume button. Then, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON, until the initial settings appear. Pioneer really needs to get their act together on this issue. I have read all over that MANY people have had this issue, and the website is just a repeat of their lame printed manual.

Hope this helps. In review:

From OFF, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON. The initial settings shall appear at this point after about three seconds...

I just read these instructions, and while trying it, I found that my FUNCTION KEY had ABSOLUTELY NO FUNCTION IN THIS.
