could be wites in the door at the hinge, the microswitches in the door lick assembly, or if it is a series of flashes it could mean a code depending on your model number. Last to check is visuals on the control board for burning, or any loose wiring.
Press High Temp Scrub and Dry Heat option buttons in quick succession one after the other for about 6 sec until all the lights come on. Then press Cancel button. This should reset the dishwasher. Press equivalent buttons on the panel if the actual ones above are not there. Make sure the dishwasher detergent dispenser lid is shut and the dishwasher door is shut before you start the above reset sequence.
HI- You didn't give a model # but it is possible that the fuse on the control board burnt out. This shuts the unit down if it gets blown. Yours may not have this fuse, can't tell without a model number but if you are sure it is getting power I'd have a tech out to look at it. You should be able to open the door anytime you want but maybe the door switch shorted out the fuse. If you have lights on the controller then it is more likely the door switch. Hope this helps.
The most likely failure that causes this would be the thermal fuse that is located in the console.
It is a temperature controlled device that can trip if there is a lot of heat in the control area.
If you want to tackle the repair it is not too difficult and requires a basic understanding of electricity and an ohmmeter.
I would need your model number that is on the tag just inside the door to give you detailed instructions but basically the fuse is attached to the control board just behind the button panel. The fuse does not look like a regular fuse and it has 2 wires going to it.
The dishwasher lights are all blinking, it starts randomly, like one in every 50 times you press the buttons. I have unplugged it to reset several times. Nothing is working. I'm looking for a solution to blinking lights and it not starting. is there any other way to reset the controls????
