I know what the problem is and I guess I kind of figured that I have to replace the red convergence chip. ok.. with that being said... I have looked all over the place to get the part. When I looked into what the present "messed up" chip has onit. It does indeed have the "STK" on the chip. That is it though. How do I know which chip to get and where on earth can I purchase one? if you could send a link pls. My TV is driving me nuts. my green and blue are working fine but there are red lines all through it. It is a projection TV. also... when I open the back of my TV, The red convergence chip was right there,,, very accessible :) I think I could do it on my own.

This tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence booard the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.These parts on the tv convergence board, must be replaced to solved the tv convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
Absolutely! if the consumer control has failed to rectify the problem you need expert help. There are two control boards near the power supply 1 or both are involved and more than 90% of the time both of the boards have to be replace otherwise the problem will occur again in a short time. It is not a DIY project for the unskilled as it has to be tuned correctly when it is installed. Better to leave it to the professional

Most projects in life are "easy",if you know how.Chassis will have to be pulled,convergence IC's replaced w/top quality parts to prevent
recall.Some excellant soldering will be needed
for prevent maintenance,for instance,the steel
jumper wires feedig b+ to convergence IC's.
RE-align in servicer mode==final step.
Check all micro-fuses in power supply.If two or three are bad,a convergence circuit O/H will be necessary.Pro help usually required-chassis pull,replace convergence IC's and careful hand-
soldering needed to prevent call-back.
