This is generally a driver glitch. You will need to use an external keyboard and mouse, in order to uninstall the drivers for the onboard keyboard and mouse from the device manager, then disconnect the externals and reboot. The machine will find and reinstall the drivers for them automatically. If this doesn't work, then the problem is with the motherboard and you will need to have it serviced.

My acer aspire note book touch pad in nt tapping any more and i have window7 starter hw can i fix it

It could be a number of things. But one thing you could try, is push Fn-F7 (Function and F7) key. This has been known to toggle the touchpad on/off. Also, Fn-F1 will give you a menu list of function hot keys.

Locked keyboard and mousepad on acer aspire 6920G

Almost same problem: the mouse froze.

Found a nice solution at another website: switch off the pc, unplug the power supply cable AND remove battery. Press "on" switch for 20 seconds. Now re-install battery, plug back power supply cable, and switch on. Worked for me (what exactly worked for me I don't know but hey)

Good luck.

I don't know if you mean that your cursor suddenly moves as you are typing? If so, it is likely your touch pad is too sensitive. I have a mouse w/mouse pad but never disabled the touch pad. So i disabled the touch pad and it solved it for me. If you want to be sure it is the touch pad being over sensitive, then type a paragraph but keep your fingers and palms far away from the touch pad. If the problem improves, like it did for me, then the touchpad is too sensitive. You can go into the settings for the touchpad to change the sensitivity setting to make it less senstive and see if that works and it does not then press Fn +F7 keys to disable the touchpad.
