How do we hook up the D.V.D. player to the T.V. We think we have done it correct but it does not play.

I am hooking my dvd player to a cable box which is connected to my tv with a hdmi cable. (this is using the source avi1) I also am using my amplifier for surround sound etc. Everything works fine except my "picture from dvd's on the tv is in black and white and there is no color. If I use the source "HDMI" everything else works fine and in color. What have I done wrong?

    Thanks, Bill

Couple of ways but the easiest way would be connecting the video and audio out from DVD (need rca connections yellow red and white)
Yellow --- Video
white and red is audio out left and right.
find in your tv set inputs with similar colors its going to be input 1
or input 2 (as an example)
once you conect the cable matching colors yellow to yellow red to red and white to white make sure you select the same input on your set (video 1 or 2) that its throu input selection in remote control from tv or set itself.

I have the latest software version for the BDPBX2 11.4.008 when I try to play the Avatar Bluray DVD I get the following message: if you experience problems playing back this DVD go to...

I have Avatar Blu-ray movie and it plays on my BDP-BX2 11.4.006 version. Take it back and get it exchanged. Try new one. May have to go to another store since the same shipments (bulk) that are at your store are ALL the same. I have done this 4 times with 4 different movies and 2 of them worked. I'm getting the .008 update but, I'm starting to think the Blu-ray disc are the problem since I have one that is made in Mexico??? I don't think they are all being made correctly. Too Cheap!

I can't get to work the set up function on my remote control

You must look into the owners manuals of both units and check the correct set-up procedures.Check to see if the remotes for both units must be used for playing dvds.Check to see in you using the correct output to input cable connections. If you are using a third unit in the hook-up look in the owners manual for the correct connections and the correct setting for the use of it with the other two units. The only way to be sure you have you hook -up correct is by useing the owners manuals, because the have all the details for these set-ups. Hope this helps you with your problem.

hey 1st of all you gotta make sure that your son made tha right connections with the av cable (this is the cable with three different coloured pins) from your DVD to your tv. if this doesnt solve your problem then make sure you are using the correct av channel on your tv set that will allow you 2 play your DVD player because sometimes you cant play your DVD on thhe same av cannel you watch normal tv

DVD player wont play DVD-R's

If the DVD is not dirty/scratched it might mean it has a stupid security thing that wont let you play "un-copyrighted" dvd.
There are ways around it but I think they are quite costly.
