This is generally a driver glitch. Uninstall the video drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find the hardware and reinstall the drivers. Then adjust the screen resolution from display properties. This should bring your screen back to normal size.

Acer laptop display goes off after some second

Try booting into safe mode. Chances are that you have set the screen resolution and refresh rate to some value that the LCD cannot handle. That is why it works until Windows takes over. Once you are in Safe Mode you can get things under control.

It you removed the 1- 512 memory did you go to only the bois or did you try to let it boot? if you did not try it with the first stick of memory in and see if it works, if it does not put that stick back in and remove the second one. just because it shows the memory does not mean the memory is bad.

The bios has a full screen but the windows do not show full screen

Goto the System BIOS and skip to Page 4 of 7 (Press Alt+P three times to do this). Set the field "Primary Video" to System and "Video Expansion" to Enabled. Save settings and exit. System would reboot with normal graphics now. If the Screen is still squeezed in Windows, reinstall your video drivers from support.dell.com

  2. does it display your windows start button? Yes: right click on the display and select arrange icons by: then select "show desktop icons". No: your computer might not have proper boot up. need to restore and follow the above solution.

Only 1 of the 4 video screens is showing the windows desktop. All others are only showing the BIOS information for the video adaptor.

Hi,
In windows, you need to enable and extend your desktop into the extra outputs, you can do this in your display properties pages.

Toshiba password

You're most likely looking at the BIOS startup password. It will prompt before it even tries to start Windows. Most computers have a way to override this but more info will be required....make/model of machine would help greatly.
