Question about Ryobi 15" Electric Factory Reconditioned Trimmer (ZRRY41002) - Factory Reconditioned

Open Question

Ryobi cordless drill. I was using my cordless 18V drill last week and all of a sudden the switch on the drill quit working, I put on a new battery but when you press the switch, NOTHING happens, it acts as though the switch is defective. Can this switch be replaced at a cost less than buying a new ryobi cordless drill. Thanks for any help.

SOURCE: I believe my Ryobi 12 VoltBattery Line trimmer need a new battery

First, check to see if the charger is working properly. To do this, recharge the battery for about 15 minutes. Then check to see if it now runs the trimmer. If so, then you have a bad battery. You can go on the WEB and find a replacement. These batteries or sensitive to heat and cold. When storing, try to place it in a comfortable environment. Sorry for your loss. If it still under warranty, check with the Co.

SOURCE: Ryobi 18V Hedge Trimmer Blade Question

Just buy a file and push 3 or 4 down strokes down the same slope of the cutter toward the sharp edge. Never file on the flat top of the cutter, only on the slope. Support the frame using a saw horse or pick-up bed. The support makes the file cut the metal better. You can do the same thing with chain saws. You just need the file that fits the cutter. You just hold a consistant angle and count out the same number of strokes. Also, clean out junk between the moving parts, tighten any loose screws, and drop a few drops of 3 in 1 oil between the moving parts. Having things sharpened at a shop is inconvenient and expensive.

I have Ryobi P2031 18V LiON trimme; other day it quit; is not the battery: hidden fuse?

Did you load test the battery? A volt meter will only indicate battery voltage...but not amperage. Only a load test can do thay. There is no fuse, however the switch or motor could have failed.

Check to make sure you don't have a staple stuck under the hammer. If the spring feed is working, then something is keeping the staples from sliding under the hammer. Can you hear the hammer hitting? Does it leave an impression on the wood?

The motor may have overheated and burned open. Use a multimeter to check resistance across the battery contacts in the tool with the switch closed. If it reads open, the motor has failed.
