I am a technician I had a challenge with EP2500 is not producing sound after I replaced bad transistor.I lack what to do next.

I would see what else that bad transistor was connected with. Electronic parts don't tend to fail in random areas. Whatever caused the transistor to fail will probably be the cause of your sound loss. Sometimes a static sensitive device linked to a transistor that has failed can go too. I had this Sony amp that the owner was always bringing in for repair, as he would work it too hard, or short a wire! He would have blown a transistor, but every time something went on it, it took out this CX IC, killing the pre-amp on it. It was just too sensitive to static!

My EP2500 keeps on blowing a fuse on the right channel and I opened it and realised that the two horizontal caps are a bit bigger.

They wouldn't blow the fuse. You are looking at the main devices that power the channel. If you put an ohmmeter on their terminals (assuming they are transistors) then it will show like you have touched the two test probes together. If it does replace the part(s).

Behringer EP2500 drawing large current when powered up

If you are pulling the transistor that drives the final and the problem goes away, is the driver bad? Is the power supply a multi channel isolated unit? Could the channel for that side be bad?

I have an EP2500, which burns speakers. I connect with a lamp in series, and when it receives high frequency signals, lights the lamp, the output looks correct, but consumption is increasing dangerously....

There was an suggested solution here for your problem.

There are electronic components which seems to be undiscoverable

for a moment.

• The fault could be anywhere from the differential input stage

to the VAS circuits.

• One has to check thoroughly components , and proceed

troubleshooting without the power transistors connected.

• Check for offset voltage on each of the main amp output.

• Check for idling current

A good amp never produce an over of 0.7V on its output.

Behringer EP2500 Clip light Channel 2 stays on & heatsink HOT!

There are so many components that can fail that troubleshooting this can be an expensive problem.

HINT: Put a 150 Watt light bulb in series with the power going into to limit current for/during troubleshooting.

Go through and compare the voltages on the teo channels. If power amp transistors have failed, likely the driver transistors also are gone.

Testing components in-circuit is very dificult. Resistors are pretty reliable and usually show damage by discoloration.

Furhter use before repairing MAY cause further damage.

Both fuses burnt and both clip and signal led on? seems to have full power behringer ep2500

Suspect an overload in either the power supply section or the devices on the main heat sink. In the power supply you are either looking at a transformer problem or semi-conductors associated with it. However since the clip and signal lights are on, I would go to the amp devices on the heat sink. If they are transistors test them with a Ohm Meter on the 1K setting in circuit even! You will soon notice which ones are gone! The meter will show like you had touch the test probes together!

What are the Behringer EP2500's output stage transistors?

Faichild/Toshiba make the output transistors for the ep2500, part numbers 2SA1943 and the 2SC5200. Beware though there are a lot of dodgy fakes around on ebay. Profusion are excellent. Heres the links for them.

Does anyone has overheat problem with Behrigher EP2500 power amplifier? We had the amp for abut a year. The amp. has recently become overheat (hand burning) after 30 minutes operation. We set the gain to...

The last time I had a problem like this there was a defective transistor in the from end that was generating noise in the 30K range. Too high to hear and too high for the speakers to reproduce, but enough to put quite a load on the amp. Does this occur even with no speakers attached? If so, then put an osciloscope on the outputs and look for signals. WIth no input, there should be no output at all except for a little noise. You can also see if there is any DC on the outputs as well.

Please update this with what you find.

Thanks,
Dan

The circuit breaker on my behringer europower ep2500 keeps coming on when i turn it on after the posative and negative on one of the speaker outputs touched, is this repairable. thanks ben

Yes this is repairable, but there is no "reset" switch. There is a good possibility that the output transistors have failed. This unit requires service. If you have no experience with audio amplifier repair, take this to a service shop. Expect a parts cost in the $50 range.

Behringer EP2500 no output on CHANNEL 1

check all op amps for correct voltage swing +-should be equal, test output of op amps no voltage should be present, use chasis gnd as tester neg.check voltage regulation especially 12v or 15v +-.note some amps show unequal led indications when only 1 channel connected to a load.I will try to get some more info on this specific amp because i don't know this circuit well, keep in touch as you update though.
