SOURCE: red sensor

If your Roomba's red "check robot" light comes on, the Roomba should also give a hi-lo warning tone, then a number of beeps. Check the number of beeps with the chart toward the end of your manual-- it should tell you what to do.

Roomba going in circles

Roomba going in circles. Called irobot and if reseting it (by taking out the battery, unplugging it from the charger, and holding down the power button for 30 seconds), didn't work, turn the roomba over, take a compressor and blow air into the front. Maybe a shop vac would also work. We cleaned out the whole thing while we were at it. And now it works just fine. The tech person at irobot was very helpful.

My roomba won't go forward it just spins in a circle and will go backwards. I have already tried cleaning it out and cleaning the front bumper sensors.

You will need to take the top off to clear those wheels.
This happens a lot when cleaning new carpet. The fuzz jams the wheel switch, and dosey do you go.

535 series - just put in new battery - does not work - just spins around in circles and tries to back up - then beeps nine times (bumper?) Won't dock.

Hey

Please look for other same problem posted here ;-)

You are probably facing a bumper sensor issue.
Try to clean the bumper first and if this goes on, either call iRobot service, or
take a look at this page for the step by step 9 beep fix.

Spins around in a circle and then beeps 9 times and shuts off

Yes, this is known issue and if your bumper moves freely, you might be facing a sensor fault caused by poor quality of components.
Here is a guide to fix it

Backward spinning roomba

If you are lucky then one of the 4 sensors under the bumper has dust lint buildup. Blow out these areas and give your unit a good cleaning. If it still continues to do this then the bumper bar sensor should be replaced

Backs up spins in circles, then red light flashes and beeps

Sounds like either the battery is bad or not being charged properly with subsequent loss of programming.

Spins, stops and can't find dock

The problem is your Roomba's bumper. Tap it with your hand about a dozen times, blow it out with compressed air, and then try running the Roomba. If the same thing occurs, call support at 1-877-855-8593. (Be sure to have the Roomba with you when you call.)

My roomba now just spins in circles in one spot. it does not go anywhere.

Try blowing out your bumper with compressed air. Tap the bumper with your hand to knock loose any obstructions. Then run your Roomba. If the behavior persists, the best way to resolve it is to call customer support. (The number should be in your documentation or on the bottom of the robot.)
