There is still dirt in element and fan, try compressed air and blow out lint until no more dust comes out of unit. If still shuts off, it is tripping high temp thermal protector.

How do you remove front grill of Lasko NSC-243 to enable cleaning? Thanks.

A tower fan should not be opened at all. (It’s unsafe to do so, and may damage your fan.) Every two to three weeks, simply use the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner on the tower fan intake grills to remove lint and dirt, or use a can of compressed air to blow off dust from inner fan blades. That’s it! Your clean tower fan is ready to be plugged back in and get back to keeping your home breezy.

The manual for the Lasko 5155 is available here: http://www.devicemanuals.com/productsupport/Lasko_5155_manual.html . You will need to review the heater to download the manual. Other Lasko manuals are available from the Lasko site. The current tower heaters have the manuals on their individual product pages. You can access the list here: http://www.laskoproducts.com/ceramic-tower-heaters/ . Other manuals can be accessed here: http://www.laskoproducts.com/?s=Manuals... .

I hope this helps.

I have a lasko tower ceramic heater that keeps shutting down.

mine does the same thing every year. I just clean out the dust from the vents on the back of the heater so the heater can breath otherwise it could get too hot and the safety fetcher kick in and makes the heater stop working.

Portable Heater keeps turning off

I just fixed my Stanley Lasko 675900 FOR GOOD and would like to tell the world how to fix it!

1. Remove the front plastic grill. The bolts are torx heads with a center pin. You may be able to find a torx head driver with the center pin but I improvised. I Used a dremel tool with a small rounded diamond bit to grind the center pins out of each screw so I can use a standard torx head driver on the screws.
2. Remove the heating element. These should be Phillips screws.
3. Blow out the dust from the back side of the heating element. (be careful with the fragile fins)
4. put it all back together and it should work just fine.
5. (optional at your own risk!) I believe the small gadget attached to the top of the heating element with the white wire is the limiter. You can use pliers to slide the unit out of the element and either move the unit further toward the center area, or cut the device out completely with wire cutters and then splice it back together. If you do this REMEMBER TO CLEAN THE BACK OF TH HEATING ELEMENT EVERY MONTH TO PREVENT A DUST FIRE!

I hope this work for you and good luck!

Lasko 5365 Ceramic Compact Heater Troubleshooting Forum.

Try taking a can of compressed air and spray in the vents in the front and the back of the heater. The heater has a sensor that gets dusty and causes it to shutoff to prevent overheating.

The heater should function properly once the dust is blown off the sensor.

Good luck!
