Question about Samsung Printers & Copiers

I have just purchased a samsung printer, but it says on the user sheet "according to the policy Microsoft does not support Windows 98 USB Driver and PS Driver of Windows ME/NT. Does that mean I can't use the printer using Windows?

No, it means if your windows version is win 98, then you need a separate driver for the printer to work with usb. You can use the printer for other versions of windows like win XP and win 2000 or maybe even windows Vista

Where is a p-10 driver for win7?

According to Olympus the 10-year old model P-10 Digital Photo Printer only supports Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and specifically says that it will not function with Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit.
If you are running Windows 7 Professional, you can install XP Mode (free from Microsoft) and then install the P-10 within Windows XP to use it that way.

If
Possibly time for a new printer.

I have error message 0xc18a0301, how do I fix it?

Try:
  1. Click the Microsoft Windows icon (Start Menu ) and select Run . If you do not see the Run item, start typing it with your keyboard and Microsoft Windows Vista will search for the prompt for you to click.
  2. In the Run window, type gpedit.msc , and press OK . c01771437.jpg
  3. You are now in the Local Group Policy Editor . Navigate to the following branch: User Configuration , Administrative Templates , Control Panel and Printers selecting the Point and Print Restrictions policy: c01771438.jpg
  4. Double-click the Point and Print Restrictions policy and in the settings window, select the Enabled button. Then navigate down to the last two settings in this window (ignoring the ones further up) under the Security Prompts: heading and modify as follows. Press OK when complete: When installing drivers for a new connection: should be set to Do not show warning or elevation prompt . When updating drivers for an existing connection should be set to Do not show warning or elevation prompt . c01771439.jpg
  5. The Point and Print Restrictions policy should now show as Enabled . Close the Local Group Policy Editor and attempt to reconnect to your network printer. Network administrators may opt for a variation of the steps performed above using the Microsoft Group Policy Management Console where group policy objects can be enforced at a Domain , Site , or OU level with user or group membership filters.

I have been given a lexmark x75, with no instructions how do i install this

It would be better if you install the software/driver first in your computer. The software also shows you the instructions on how to setup the printer itself. Here are the drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. Just click on the driver compatible with your computer's operating system.
- Lexmark X75 AIO Printer driver for Mac OS X, Mac OS X 10.1, Mac OS X 10.1.5, Mac OS X 10.2, Mac OS X 10.2.1, Mac OS X 10.2.8, Mac OS X 10.3.x, and Mac OS X 10.4.x.
- Custom Driver for Microsoft Windows 2000
- Driver for Microsoft Windows XP
These are the only available drivers. That means the printer is not compatible with Mac 10.5, Mac 10.6, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
For additional information, here's the Setup Sheet (Lexmark X74, X75) and the User's Guide (Lexmark X74, X75) . Hope this helps.

Need disk to load Z1300 lexmark to 98window systed on laptop

I regret to inform you that Microsoft no longer supports its Windows 98/Me operating systems. Microsoft's licenses that authorized manufacturers of printing and imaging equipment, including Lexmark, to include Microsoft's related USB files in printer and scanner drivers have also terminated. Consequently, Lexmark no longer is authorized to reproduce or distribute any Lexmark drivers that include Windows 98/Me USB functionality. Lexmark has removed Microsoft Windows 98/Me USB files from our currently distributed CDs as well as all web packages for Windows 98 and ME. This means that Lexmark is no longer able to provide Windows 98/Me USB functionality in any drivers for existing products. You may still retain the right to use/reload any driver CD or web package obtained previously.

Lexmark regrets any inconvenience this may cause our customers. If you have any questions about how this may affect you, you may refer to our KnowledgeBase articles, which can be located at http://support.lexmark.com.

Need driver CD for HP3740

Hi

The printer doesn't support windows 98. supported systems are:

» Microsoft Windows Vista
» Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)
» Microsoft Windows XP
» Microsoft Windows XP x64
» Microsoft Windows 2000
» Mac OS X
» Mac OS 9
» Linux

Drivers are available at this page below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=401496&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=3&submit.x=8&lang=en&cc=us

Note that there are no drivers for 98 and it won't be simple to get the printer to work with the 98.. I would recommend upgrading to 2000 or windows xp. if your computer is from 1998 it might be better to buy a new computer.

Todays printers don't work with 10 year old computers anymore.

linux would work on the computer for sure, and so would the printer but using linux is quite complex, you would need to get someone to install it for you and make it look as much like windows as possible, its a whole new system..

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse
