Question about Mintek DVD & Blu-Ray Players

6 Answers

I have a Mintek 10.2" portable dvd player (MDP-1070) and it has trouble loading dvds. It will either sit there and continue saying loading or else it will say "no disc" and I know it was placed in the dvd player correctly. In the beginning it didn't do this with all discs, but now it occurs with any disc I load. Is there anything I can do?

I have already used a lens cleaner and didn't make any difference.

I have a Mintek MDP-1070 portable DVD player. When I place a DVD in to be played it continues to say loading or no disc like it's not reading the dvd. I've cleaned the lens several times to no avail. I've already posted this problem once and was told the lens needs cleaning, but I've done that several times. Any other ideas?????

The lens could be dirty, but it could also mean that the ribbon connecting the lens reader to the microchips inside the dvd needs to be replaced. That is a common problem here. The thin ribbon with wires that could be loose or needs replacement is connected to the moving mechanism that pops the cd in and out, usually located directly under the cd. It can be replaced by a technician, and is pretty cheap from where I come from.

If lens cleaning does not work then the lens section is dead.

you will have to replace the whole lens section.

but instead of investing so much in that player i think you can go a new one.

now a days Players are very cheaply available.

You are already use the insertible cleaners like CD/DVD it cleans while playing, actually that cleaners has a brush on it and it will wipe the dust from the lense but nothings happens it won't works.
The problem of your player is in "rail roller bars"the old grease there is hardened already due to accumulated dust, this is the most common problem, error in reading because the lense set assembly is jumping or cannot reach the microswitch button ,to switch on to play the player, that's why cannot play..
You better clean that rail roller bars by brushing, use old tooth brush and a lighter fluid or alcohol to take old grease. When finish cleaning the bars ,put a little amount of type -A grease. Rail roller bars is under the tray where moving assembly moving on it back and forth bringing the lense set. When brushing don't forget to cover the lens with little paper or plastic to protect the lens .Wipe the lens with cotton buds with very little amount of plain water after that then wipe it dry cotton buds ,try this solution ,so your player will work better again....

The lens may be dirty, have you tried using a dvd lens cleaner disc

heres one for example
http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-DVD-LC-DVD-Lens-Cleaner/dp/B00000JPPI

if a cleaner disc doesn't fix the problem there may be damage in the optics / lens or too much dirt / dust on the lens to clean with a disk.

If you still have warranty on your product please contact your dealer or mintek directly for service.

If you are out of warranty seek a local repair man. The lens may need to be replaced.

Let me know if you need anything else or have any questions
Thanks,
Ekse.

Your lens may be faulty or broken, you have to take it in for service then.

Hello Truckeesnow,

Your DVD isnt reading the CDs propably because the lense is dirty.
That is a very common problem with all the DVDs.
Try to clean the lense of your DVD either with lense cleaner, or with some soft loth, or toilet paper.

I would suggest to try using a lens cleaner and see if that restores the functionality. If the lens cleaner did not work, the lens could be becoming defective and it should be replace.

Problem with Mintek MDP-1810 Portable DVD Player that will play movie DVDs but not computer burned video DVD

The problem I think is with the burner on your pc. Try re burning on another program like Nero and pay attention to the options. It will ask you if you wish to play disc in all types of players.

I was given a mintek dvd player model mdp-1770 it is say no disc when there a dvd in it i have tryed recalbreting it by sliding back forth four time then loading a cd but it still reads no disc

If the unit plays CDs but not DVDs, then the LED for DVDs is burned out. There are separate LEDs for CD and DVD operation.
If neither plays, there is a more fundamental problem. In any case, only factory service will correct the problem with your "white elephant".
I have exactly this model.
