Well take it apart and see if you have the phone's keypad clip on the board properly.

Hi folks :) My daughter dropped her samsung ace in water and quickly pulled in out. We put it in a bag of rice and the phone powers up and the screen looks fine except the screen won't respond to any...

remove cover and the battery, put it back in the rice for another 24 hours,
then watch the youtube vid's on "how to change the screen, of course you are not going to do that, but you are going to almost do that,,,, remove the guts up to the point that you unplug the screen and the digitizer, then plug them back together and take them apart again and again in attempt to remove the dried water deposits from them, when done put the phone back together and use it normally
you can also plug in the charger and unplug it several times to clean water deposits from the port and try to connect it to the computer again,,,,

My message icon is not responding, everytime i touch it it is saying initialising

It could be that it's permanantly stuck in the reboot stage. Take it apart battery and all, and then put it back together and try. If that doesn't work take it back and get your provider to fix it for you.

Keypad not working

Took the phone to bits, cleaned the contacts and made sure the ribbon was plugged in properly (gave it a wiggle and a press). Put it back together and all worked fine.

Keypad freeze

Did the key pad froze before you took the battery off? If so, it mean the keypad is damaged. If you have insurance, you may call customer service and have it replaced for a new one.

If it frozed after you shoot it off, you might call customer service from another phone and they might help you to unlock your phone.
