Buy a powered stage monitor and gonnect to the MON jack. You will select the channels to go to the monitor with the AUX knobs and the overall level with the MON slider.

Use BALANCED lines to the powered monitor... This is a TRS plug at the mixer end for sure...

REMEMBER to power ALL interconnected equipment from the same receptaacle or source, even if it means running an extension from where your speakers are plugged in to the mixer !!! The ground bounce between power receptacles within a building can destroy your equipment's sensitive input circuits.

I have a Peavey XR 8600 PA, I have tried adding an external vocal effects module into a mic line but it drops the output volume of the entire PA by about 75%. Any ideas why this is?

Well, I would say it isn't dropping the level of "the whole pa", it is just dropping the level of the input you have plugged the fx into. Check the settings on your fx unit, there are usually input, output and mix controls that are independant of "the pa" and affect the amplitude of the signal going into your mixer from the fx unit.

How do i connect a monitor to the 1202FX mixer

Hi, you can use the Control Room outputs to give you an additional output with it's own level control but of you want a separate "mix" rather that overall level you could try the FX send & use the FX controls per channel to set the mix - depends how / if you are using the FX of course! - Else upgrade to a mixer with 2 Aux sends - use one for FX & the other for monitor :-) e.g. some of the Alesis do this! 'Good Luck!

Soundcraft efx 12

Good luck. Your mixer only has one aux out to supply only one stage monitor out. Only way to make it work would be to use the panning controls of each channel to different outputs to the Left and Right main outs for stage monitors and aux out as front of house speakers. I would get another separate mixer for monitor such as another efx 12 with every input connected to both mixers, then use the panning and main outputs to that. Sorry. Just not enough of mixer. You need an aux out for each individual's monitor.

Monitoring vocals and cd/tape

Here is a link for the manual, can't download it but you can read it online.THESE words are written on page 9 of the manual," If you are recording a signal via the TAPE OUTPUT and wish to listen to this simultaneously via the CD/TAPE INPUT, do not use the CD/TAPE TO MIX switch. Doing this would create a feedback loop, since the signal would be routed, via the main mix, back to tape via the TAPE OUTPUT. To monitor the CD/TAPE INPUT, use the CD/TAPE TO CTRL switch to assign the tape signal to the monitor(s) or headphones. This will avoid the tape signal being routed to the TAPE OUTPUT."

It also says this under that,"If you want to monitor only the efects signal in your headphones or monitor speaker(s), press the FX TO CTRL switch. Now the signal of the efects processor can be monitored alone, and the main mix andnor CDntape signal is no longer present on the phone and control room outputs."

Shud i get an external equaliser? i'm using MG166CX 16-Channel Mixer as the main mixer.

An external equalizer will not help this at all. The problem is likely within the amp (feeding the main speakers), the connections from the board to the amp, or the speakers themselves. In other words, the answer would be "NO." Best of luck!

I'm using the Peavey XR 8600 with two EV Force i 25 speakers. My question is this, what is the difference between the two outputs on the Peavey? I naturally assumed one was left and one was right....

DO NOT parallel more than two 8 ohm speakers on either output and you will be OK. You could also use one speaker on each output. That would be easier on the equipment as it would be an 8 ohm load on each instead of a 4 ohm load on one of the internal amps. If you want to drive stage minitors, then you existing setup is fine and you will connect the monitors to the second speaker output and set the Mon switch as MAIN/MON.

On stage live...I want to use the B205D as a personal monitor...the band uses a Yamaha EMX512SC 8 powered mixer on stage...What would be the correct connections to hear only my vocals in the B205D monitor...

Oh my... the EMX512SC does NOT have any "sub busses" there fore there is no way to just hear YOUR vocals where there are other vocal present. The way to connect this is to run YOUR mic into the B205D and then run the line output that is intended to run to other B205D's from the B205D into a channel of the EMX512SC.

I Have a Peavey XR 600B mixer. There are only 2 inputs in the rear for speakers. I want to add more speakers to be used as monitors or just have extra speakers. How can this be done? I only have...

First off it's outputs to your speakers. If you had an extra set of powered or amplified speakers you could "Y" cable your speaker outputs. Your passive speakers won't work without an amp. You really need powered speakers or an amp for your extra speakers. (if you had powered/amp'd speakers you could run them off one of you "aux" out for monitors. Do not daisy chain your speakers connecting twi together, you'll change the resistance/ohms and damage your speakers. Trust me, I do this for a living.

Can I hook up 2 separate power amps to PMP3000? I

Better way... Connect the main speakers via the Speakons and then put a Power Subwoofer to one of the Monitor connections IF you are not using both stage monitors. If you need to kill the lows to the mains, use the EQ in the PMP-3000.

Use the EQ that is USUALLY on the subwoofer to kill the highs to the sub.

Lot less cables and hardware.

REMEMBER for equipment safety, power ALL interconnected equipment from the same source be it a receptacle or power distribution system.

Powering parts of a system from receptacles strewn around a room is asking for trouble of ground loops and ground faults.
