Hello,
If your remote stops working all of a sudden, first thing you need to check on is the remotes battery, replace the batteries and try to test it again, if it works, it means that simply solved the problem and if it does not, then it means the problem is from another source.
Try to change channels from the television by pushing the channel buttons that mostly used to be by the side of the television, to see if it changes channels, if that does, then you need to find out if the remote sensor on the television is not rusty, for that you will have to unscrew the television open and access the remote sensor.
You will have to try out another similar remote on the television to see if it works, if that works, then it means the remote is bad and need to be replaced with a new one. And if it does not work, then it means loosening the television is the next thing to do to check if the remote sensor in the television is bad.
Unplug the television, then unscrew it apart, be sure to allow television rest for some time to allow the high voltage dissipate, after that you start the work on the television, then you disassemble it to see if the pins holding the remote sensor are not rusted, once you find them rusty and broken off the board, you can either replace the remote sensor or resolder it properly back on the television.
After doing that, reverse the process to reassemble the television back and plug it, then test the remote and it will work once again.
Take care and good luck
