Hey ideabypeach1,

Whenever you buy a pre-built computer, many manufacturers will supply you with the product key for the version of Windows installed onto your computer. This product key may appear in one of several different places, but can typically be found on a sticker attached to the computer case itself. Normally these stickers will have the Windows logo someplace on them, may be multi-colored and have several barcodes printed on readable surfaces. You may also occasionally find duplicates inserted within your owner's manuals or stuck to the sleeve used to protect your computer's recovery CD (if one was provided).

Unfortunately, if you are not able to find the product key in any of these locations the only party that is able to further assist you would be the manufacturer of the computer itself. Most major retailers will not keep track of Windows product keys for the computers that they sell, as they do not normally appear on the external packaging that would appear on store shelves.

The reason why the product key is required is to verify that you have a legal copy of the operating system installed on your computer. Without this key, you may not be allowed to install newer operating systems or receive official updates through the Microsoft support website.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Hi,

Often, PCs from e-Machine and other major companies would have a sticker either on the side or at the rear of the desktop that would contain the Microsoft Product Key. Once determined (product key), it is just a matter of replacing the "product key" that is stored in your Windows registry to the real/actual/legitimate as stenciled in said sticker. Recognizing similar concerns, Microsoft has posted a Product Key updater tool for the purpose of legitimate update or replace of the product key. Said utility maybe downloaded/performed from here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

If your files are in "My Music" and the "My Documents" is not shared, then nobody can view them from another PC. Try copying the files to your shared files directory and see if you can access them then.

When i plug up my ipod the computer recognizes it but my windows media player isnt picking up.

Hi ,

There can be a compatibility issue or the version for windows media player that you have needs to be upgraded so you can download the latest windows media player 7 even if that does not work then it means that the media player is not working rite and to correct it media player needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled and only a recovery can do that as it came with the Windows so the alternative is please download VLC MEDIA PLAYER which is better than the windows media player and it supports all type of file formats.

all the best

Hi have tried everything!! my windows media player 10 will not recognise my intel celeron d inside driver for windows xp, what do i do??? im not that experienced, but have tried everything!

The Intel Celeron D Inside Driver? Windows XP is designed for the Intel Celeron Processor and does not require a driver. Window Media Player 10 however requires a valid copy of Windows XP with SP2... If you go to the Windows Update website it should upgrade your PC and the version of Media Player for you.
