Question about Video Game Consoles
Unfortunately, when you see three red lights flash on an Xbox console, it can often indicate that a significant hardware failure has occurred that requires service and repairs. Before seeking assistance through Microsoft however, there are a couple of steps that you may wish to take depending on what color the light is on your power supply.
If the power supply light is red, you may wish to try using a different power cord and adaptor (if one is available). This should be done to ensure that you simply aren't encountering a short in the power supply itself. Additionally, a red power supply light may indicate that your Xbox has overheated and either needs to be moved to a better ventilated area or that vents are clogged with dust.
If the power supply light is orange, one or more connections have come loose. In this event, you may need to unplug all of the connections between the Xbox, the wall socket and your TV before reconnecting them and powering your Xbox on again.
If the power supply light does not illuminate, the power supply has either become disconnected or is defective. Trying a different power supply may resolve this type of issue, but please keep in mind that there is no guarantee that other problems may not exist.
Hope this helps you out.
