This is generally a problem with the CD drive, it will have to be replaced. You can try unistalling the drivers for it and the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the hardware and reinstall the drivers. However, in dealing with this problem in the past, I've found that I usually have to replace the drive.

My music sounds like chipmunk.Why?

Install a set of Codecs. This is a small set of Standard Programs that allow the correct interpretation of the Audio and video files used on your computer. KLcodecs is a good place to start. They are free and should cover the vast majority of file formats.

Puter runs too fast, sounds like chipmunks, no usb port or printer, tried everything, could this be a motherboard

Knowing the exact cause of each individual issue is not as important as making them go away. I would venture to guess that you have tweaked with settings in various places. Without knowing the effect of changing settings, problems like this can occur. Your best and quickest bet would be to back up files such as pictures, documents and music. Then, if comfortable doing so, format your harddrive(s) and reinstall your operating system. There may be a better solution if a knowledgeable tech was there in person to test and troubleshoot your system.

Acer Aspire playing music & video too fast, chipmunk speed.

Go to your sound card settings under start settings control panel, select the real tek audio then in there there should be settings on how your sound comes out of your computer make sure that it is not set on some funky audio morphing setting. Someone must have played some pranks on you but yes its total fixable with a couple strokes of the mouse. ruldss2008

Alvan and The Chipmunks reside in my Gmax 2100 speakers!

If you have a sound card added on your motherboard, i suggest you uninstall the drivers, take off the sound card, attach it again and install the drivers.

If you connect your speakers through the motherboard itself, uninstall drivers and install them by searching C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Hope it helps!!!
