Hi I use the HP pavilion DV9420us, the thing is I recently dropped a object on my screen accidentally and damaged it. That part of the screen no longer shows picture but instead a few colored lines. I don't see any cracks on the outside but instead I see the screen has cracked on the the inside, will I need to replace the screen in this case and if so where and how can I get it done for cheap because HP charges 700$ to get this problem fixed which is way too much. Also if I could do it on my own by just purchasing a screen. But I want to make sure its the screen that is damaged first.
It's definitely a damaged screen and will need to be replaced. Your best bet on a replacement screen at a decent price is Ebay. This is where I get almost all replacement screens from. It's not too difficult to change out. Try one of these links for a breakdown diagram for your machine. http://repair4laptop.org/notebook.html
