I haven't used my ear piece in several months and con not find my manuel. When I plug it in to charge it a solid red light came on for awhile then went out. When I try to turn the ear piece on nothing happens. No solid or blinking red lights come on after I have pressed the +- button for several seconds up to a minute. Also my phone won't pair with it.
According to the manual, you should only have to hold the power on button ( it is where the tiny phone handset symbol is ) for 2 seconds. Holding it for 5 seconds should turn the phone off. To Pair the headset to the phone requires this button to be held for 5 seconds also.

seeing the red light tells you that the jabra isn't fried or shorted and that there is life but there is a problem, the red light isn't blue when it should be. so have you read the directions your ear piece came with when you first bought it?... hold the on button until you see the blue light stays on.(blue light will flash fast then slow then come to a complete stop and stay on) once blue light stays on that should mean you can now find the ear piece on your cell phone to link up. if problem still isn't fixed then you might as well buy a new one.
Sounds like you have a bum unit. Plantronics gives a 1 year warranty with every wireless product, I'd send it back.
Have you made sure that you're turning it on correctly? You push the call answer button and hold it down for about 3 - 5 seconds before it turns on, until the blue light turns on. Make sure that you don't hold it longer than that or it will go into pairing mode.
Begin with Headset turned off. Press button for 6
sec. Release button when Light Indicator flashes
blue and red. Headset is ready to pair with
Use your device?s menu to enter pairing mode
and select ?320 Plantronics? on the display.
When asked for passkey, enter ?0000.?
That's how you do it for other jabra's but not this one. You have turn it on then after it's on you have to hold the function (same as power button) and the volume up button at the same time until the light turns solid.
The 500A base station is definitely compatible with the 510 earpiece. If the earpiece is turned off or unpaired the base station's red power light will be flashing. If the earpiece is already off, try turning it on by holding down the little black button on top. The base station will automatically try to find the earpiece and the blue light on top of the base will come on. If the earpiece is already on (slow flashing blue light on the mic boom) turn it off and back on again and wait for the base to find it.
Does the light blink blue other wise and show red when charging ? Make sure ear set is fully charged overnite?
Turn off and turn on. Only then when turning on, DONT REMOVE YOUR FINGERS AND KEEP PRESSED for about 10-30 Seconds,, Watch for SOLID BLUE... Remove and proceed to pair.. If it still does not work, I would suggest that you keep trying .. Since I assume that the phone is charging well and then discharging over a time..
Make sure that the power is connected to the headset. You can tell it's connected because there will be a red solid light on the left side of the front of the charging base. Check the power cord for any frays and make sure it's plugged into the wall. If it is, then try the following:
A system reset:
1. Lift the headset off of the base.
2. Make sure the headset is turned off. The green light will not be on on the base.
3. Hold down the minus button at the same time as the call answer button on the headset. Hold them down for at least 10 seconds. An orange light on the headset will flash several times. It should go off when you let go of the buttons. If the orange light stays solid, push the minus button once.
4. Put the headset back in the charging cradle. Leave it for 30 seconds. Lift it back out of the cradle and try using it again.
HEADPHONES AND SPEAKERS
Hi There Try this,
Try Adjusting the vlume on your PC first. Check the volume on the Headphone too if there is one.
Using a dump clothe. Wipe the plugs with a twisting motion.
Check your battery if it is drained. Try replacing them witha new one or charge them if they are rechargables.
If all fails then You may have a Sound Card problem. Using a spare Speaker or Headphone check it if it works. If its not then its Defective and needs replacement. If its working then your Speakers or
Headphones are defective. Try fixing them by cleaning or checking the Continuity of its cables using a analog Multi tester.
Hope This helps
