What's free 4mb of space mean?

if your device tells you that it is a 512Mb that is the total space on the device, if it is telling you 4mb of space it means there is only 4 more mega bytes available for you to store music, information, etc. some songs take up to 9 or 10 Mb so just do your math. and that is the number of songs you can load to your device.

if it works for you, don't forget to rate me
thx

Free 4mb of space error , now NO SONGS

Try formatting both the internal memory and the SD card. It's possible that the SD card isn't formatted correctly for the Mix Max to read it. Depending on the size of the card you may need to format it in FAT32 instead of FAT.

Error free 4mb of space to build music library and disney mix max won't play any songs?

The memory may be corrupt and it can't read the music files correctly. Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You should see a new removable disk called Mix Max appear. Right click on the disk and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back to your player but it should correct the problem. When adding the songs to the player again make sure that you leave at least 4 megabytes of space available so it can create the library file.

Can't do anything without message

It has to make a library file of the contents on the player. It uses that file to display the titles and artists when scrolling through the menus and what not. You'll have to format your player in order to clear it up. This will erase everything and then you can put your songs and stuff back on it. Just make sure that when you do you leave at least 4 megs of space for it to make that library file. Here's a link to the manufacturers instructions on how to format the player.

How can i delete space

hmmm, Try connecting to your computer,or open "My Computer"
and see if it recognizes the Disney Mix Max, if it does,
Double click the Disney Icon, and right click on something you want to delete, and click delete, or press "delete" on your keyboard. Be Careful not to delete things you want to keep though....

Mix max

After getting the 4MB Playlist error, I decided to play around a little bit with my 8 year old niece's Mix Max. I think I found a few tips that will help others. First off, go into my computer and right click on the drive letter that corresponds with the Mix Max. It will probably be something like E: or F: Format it for FAT32...quick format worked for me. Next, make sure you have the most current firmware. Its downloadable from

Install that, and run the program from your start menu. Make sure your Mix Max is turned off and hold the + sign as you plug it into the USB cable. It will guide you through a reset. Once you complete this, you should be able to process a sync through Windows Media Player 10 or 11. Hope this helps! I've also noticed that some songs will fail during the sync. If you remove those, it seems to help with the error as well. Might just be a coincidence.
