SOURCE: over heating

This is easy, Order a new xbox 360 fan off of ebay. Open up your console, and replace the parts. It's very simple, you just plug it into the motherboard.

Also, DON'T use an intercooler. There have been stories that say because it runs off of the Xbox360s power source it can lead to the RROD

Overheating even with intercooler

Take the intercooler off. It draws power from the console which inturn creates more heat. You need to put in a Whisper Tailsmoon fan. If you are getting the red rings, you will probably need it to be professionally reflow or put the x-clamp fix in as a DIY solution.

Please visit our eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com/Garons-Biz or from garonsbiz.com for all of your Xbox 360 and PS3 repair item needs.

I have an xbox 360 with 2 flashing lights after running for a little while any home remedies that might work? would purchasing an intercooler assit with this?

2 lights mean that the console is overheating. Intercoolers usually lead to future problems such as hardware failure so I wouldnt reccomend it. I would put the console in an open, well ventilated room such as a living or family room.

WONT WORK

It is most, likely an overheating problem. Try putting your 360 in a more ventilated area, or buy an intercooler or cooling station.
I reccomend you fix this fast, since overheating can lead to the RRoD

If this does not work, you can always visit www.xbox.com and chat live with a 24 hour support specialist.

Happy gaming and good luck.

Xbox 360 overheating

Unfortunately this sounds way to similar to all the people out there who are complaining about their system crashing. Before calling it quits I would check out one last thing, has the protective foil on the heatsink been removed. I read a pretty interesting article out of fan boy that found two consoles had this problem.

If it has been removed then I have the unfortunate job of telling you that you may want to trade it in. Some may suggest the towel trick, but I am not sure how effective it is going to be in this case. Sorry man.

Xbox 360 intercooler

I have 2 360's (1 core and 1 premium) and have the intercooler on the premium....after measuring the heat output it is reduced moderately. I would only recommend getting the intercooler if you are having heat issues with your 360 or it is in a small not well ventilated area. Hope this helps.
