Hello,
The problem with my TV is that the green light constantly flashes quickly but the TV never comes on. What is causing this and what can be done to fix it? Thanks

I have the same rapid flashing of the green light. I had previously been able to reset the TV by unplugging for a few minutes, however, this "fix" became progressively less successful. Now the TV will not reset or turn on. Thanks for any help.

I recently had a power outage in my neighborhood. The TV was on at the time of the power outage. When power was restored, the green light was blinking but I was not able to power up the TV. I have tried unplugging the TV, resetting the powerstrip, system restore on front of the TV, other outlets, and I let the TV sit unplugged overnight, nothing has given me any success. The TV doesn't show any signs of power, no lights red, yellow, green or blinking.

I am having the same problem where my TV will not turn on at all. The green light on the Timer/Power button just flashes rapidly. I have unplugged the set for an hour, hit the reset button, etc, and still nothing.

The TV shut itself off and the power/timer light started flashing green. I called Mitsubishi and they told me to unplug it for an hour then plug it back in straight to an outlet instead of the surge protector. If it still didn't come on, try to push reset button, if that didn't work, press and hold the menu button for 30 seconds. None of this worked.
My husbands friend at work told him his did the same and it was the circuit board which cost $1500.00. The TV is not worth putting that much into if the warranty is only 30 days and it could go out again.
IF anyone can help me with a cheaper repair, please let me know. I hate to trash this TV. It is only about four years old.

My four year + 3 month old Mitsubishi WD-52725 went dead while watching HDTV. It did it before and power cycling the thing addressed the issue. This time the TIMER LED would not stop blinking. Which means that the start up process could not proceed due to some error. TV repair shop listed under the Mitsubishi site told me that he needs to ship it to the factory for repair with an estimate of 800$. I am not biting. It is not worth it. Looks like Mitsubishi is designing their TVs to fail after four years. The extended 4 yrs warranty I had died a couple of months before. I hated the noisy fan that would not stop on this TV so I am dumping it and buying Pioneer or Hitachi probably. Misubishi lost me since many folks are seeing the same issue. I believe that Mitsubishi is cutting corners buying cheapo parts that can't handle more that four years usage. From the sound of folks with the same issue, Mitsubishi should have recalled their product and fixed the issue as the issue is intermittent initially then becomes solid after four years it looks like.

I just got an mitsubishi WD- 52725 from my uncle who got a new tv, the green light is blinking fast and it won't turn on. How do I fix this?

  • Anonymous Jan 11, 2009

I'm in the same boat. TV turns itself off and green light blinks. Sometimes the screen turns blue first and sometimes not. On occasion, I notice the picture starts to "****" a bit and I know it's about to go off. Sometimes it stays on for 2-3 hours, sometimes it goes off in 10 minutes. Painful.

    Hello,

I also have just experienced the flashing green light on my 4 year old Mitsubishi WD-52725. It will not turn on. I read on the internet that this is a common problem and that i can possibly repair it myself by replacing 4 caps. The TV dealer where i bought the tv says they can pull the chasis and return it to Mitsubishi and they will repair 4 different boards and this will take 4-6 weeks. The cost will be $750 of which Mitsubishi will pay $300 of it. What's the real truth with this problem.

I'm wondering if it's worth purchasing a signal board that's used and working and how easy/difficult it would to install a new board on my own. I'd rather spend $150 on a new board than just throw the whole TV out the door.

Any input would be great.

I had a repairman out and I was told my DM board needs replaced. The estimate for repair is $1000.00. The TV is not worth fixing for that amount. He did advise me to call Mitsubishi since my TV is only a little over three years old. They may send the part for free and all you would have to pay is the cost of installation, which is a few hundred dollars, he said. When I called Mitsubishi, I was told I would need to fax them a detailed diagnosis and the original purchase receipt and that I should fax it to them so they could decide what they would do. I explained to them that I had the diagnosis with the estimate but it would not work because the estimate was not broke down in detail of the cost of part, cost of repair and tax. Even if I go through the process of getting a breakdown and looking up the receipt, they will not assure me they will do anything.

The big question now is, do I want ot put any more money into this TV just to have this problem again in three years? My decision was to go out and buy a Samsung! It has a warranty and I am told they stand behind their TVs.

If the TV does not stay on, press the POWER button on the control panel for at least eight seconds to perform System Reset. The TV will turn off. Power on the TV and the green LED will flash quickly for about one minute. The changes you made most recently, before using SYSTEM RESET, may be lost. If this happens frequently, obtain an AC line power conditioner/surge protector.

An unusual digital signal may have been received, triggering a protection circuit. Wait for the light to stop flashing and turn TV on.

Momentary power fluctuation caused the TV to turn off to prevent damage. Wait for the green light to stop flashing and turn the TV on again

Thats caused by failed capacitors on the DM board. You can get the V26 DM repair kit at www.tvrepairworld.com which should fix that issue. The kit contains the capcitors and the CD with detailed repair instructions.
