Go to the control panel and make sure the sound properties are correct. Make sure the volume isnt muted. Go to the Device Manager and make sure the sound driver is present under Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
You need a little more description than, 'no volume coming to speaks'. What have you tried so far?
Make sure the cord is plugged into the proper jack....the pale green one...

please keep the microphone a bit away from ur screen... its because, powerful electro magnets will be ther in the microphone... wen u keep it very close to the screen, the waves cause the fluctuation in the screen which wil shorten the life off ur screen

When trying to speak to contacts on skype a message saying 'internal microphone not working' keeps appearing. Any suggestions of what to do?

Check your mic if properly plugged. Check hardware devices if mic is properly installed by right clicking my computer then properties. On properties window, go to harware tab and choose device manager. Check mic if installed. If not install it, if installed check properties if there is a problem. If there is reinstall it if not check volume properties if mic volume is not muted.

I cant get my built in mic to work for my acer travelmate 2313LCi..?

I'm assuming your speakers work and you're running Windows XP. Please correct me if otherwise.

There are two settings for the microphone in Windows XP. One is for the volume of the mic you hear through the speakers. The other is for the recording volume of the microphone (and the volume others here when you speak to them through Skype or another program).

First check the recording volume:
Volume Manager (double click on speaker icon on your taskbar) -> Options -> Properties -> Recording -> OK -> Make sure the Microphone slider is at least halfway turned up and make sure the Microphone is selected

Next check the playback volume:
Volume Manager -> Options -> Properties -> Playback -> OK -> Make sure the Microphone isn't muted and adjust the volume according to your preferences

No soundfrom speakers-{usb]

1.)Try connecting your speakers to another machine ? Then you can distinguish if the speaks or the cable is faulty or your sound software on your machine.

2.)install the l8est drivers for your sound card or audio device

3.)try the front usb, sides or other usb ports

4.) If your speakers also have "Jack" connectors, either try plugging into another audio port at the back of your machine or try the front audio ports

5.) Are the speakers powered on ? Is the volume on the speakers muted OR is the sound in your system on your machine muted or turned off or turned quiet ???

I only have volume coming from headphones. There is no volume coming from the built in speakers on the monitor once I have taken headphones out. I have done as many relevant checks as I can, ie: none of...

You probably have a sound cable which needs to be connected from your monitor to your computer. Have a look to see if there are any other jack type sockets on the monitor. If there are the chances are you need to cable it up.
