I have found an old Olympia electronic typewriter. It is a special one that has an extra carbon spool on the inside lefthand side. It can print in black, red and carbon. There is no model name on it. Just a number on the back "052903." When I first turned it on two days ago not one key moved. Now about 7 keys are working. What can I do to get all of the keys working? Does their still exist a repair manual for an eventual overhaul of this early electronic typewriter? Thank you for your time. Erik

The ribbon advance on these machines is a rachet system, underneath the ribbon. one of 2 likely things.

1. typewriter has nor been serviced in a long time and rachet system is gunked up; or

2. detent spring has broken or popped off.

You may be able to spray some contact cleaner down in the ratchet system, or take it it in for a servicing.
If the spring is popped off, you can re-install it. You should be able to see where it goes. There will be an arm between 2 toothed gears, just flopping . It has been a looong time since I have worked on a manual typewriter!
