GE DPGT750 not heating

I have a GE DPGT750 electric dryer that doesn't heat.  It was diagnosed and it is in fact the heating element that needs replacement.  I have the part, just need to replace the old one.  Do you have the repair or other manual which would help me do this?
Please let me know and thank you for your help.

I too have a GE Profile Harmony Electric dryer that won't heat. Also, the blower isn't working. The drum is spinning and there is power to the control panel.

I've been able to remove the control panel and the dryer top, but I don't know how to get at the blower and heating elements from there.

Does anyone know if there is there a service manual available?

    Thank you

My washer and dryer were hit by lightning a year ago and GE replaced the motherboard (? - control panel card) in each, however, I remember my dryer drying my clothes better than it does now. I seem to have to keep adding more time to ensure that the clothes are dry even with the sensor on.

The GE repairman never checked beyond the main controls to ensure nothing else was amiss. Am I remembering wrong or can it be that something else was hit?

No repair manual and is a job to replace. You have to remove the control panel, dryer top, top heat shield, dryer front, front drum support, belt, and then the drum in that order to get to the heater. I have been working on these since they have been out and have never changed a heater in one, They just dont burn out. Unplug the dryer and take the access cover off where the power cord attaches to the dryer and make sure the wires are not loose or burnt.

My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is

The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Dryer doesn't heat

Is it electric or gas? Most likely u have a blown thermostat or fuse. Could also be a bad heating element if electric. Or bad solenoid coils if gas

I have a GE DPGT750 Gas Dryer. The dryer will not heat up. Air is blowing out of the exhaust outside. However, the air is cold.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

GE profile electric dryer, sounds like something is stuck in drum

Heating problem is most likely caused by one strand of your heating element is burned out. Heating element will have to be replaced if that's the case. Noise you are hearing is most likely coming from worn front and / or back bearing. Dryer has to be completely disassembled for either repair.

Hello, My GE Profile dryer model DPXR47EW0WW serial TV771164A has stopped heating. What should I be checking? Thanks, Bob

open it up - take the drum out - the heating element is there - check the wire for breaks - then there are three fuses - if the heating element does not have any breaks - take the fuses to a parts store and have them checked.

How do I test for bad thermastat or heating element on GE dryer

well the fact that hte heating elemnt is glowing tells me that all the thermstats are working, i would check for a blockage/restriction in the venting. looking at te diag, its possible that only 1 of the 2 coils for the heate are actually going on, check the coils for continuity( may be a small break that separates when gets hot)

Dryer not heating

Your heating element is probably blown. It's not easy to replace it, but give it a try and stick with it. You can do it. Open the dryer door and look upward. You should see the screws holding the top front in place. The back usually slides out,or has two screws, one on each side on a piece of metal sort of like a hinge. Take off top and front, and then remove the drum. You will see the long round element in the rear. It looks like a long spring. Do not take the spring loose from the housing. The element comes with a new spring assembled to the new housing.. There are also several small thermistors in there that look about the size of a quarter. They should all be "closed" so that current can pass thru. Some thermistors look different. They look like the sharpened end of a pencil and are about an inch or less long. Pointed at one end and a wire coming out of each end. Replace this before replacing element. Or if you have a small volt/ohm meter, measure the ohms of the element. They should be quite low-----------300 ohms or less--------probablyi much less. If "open", then the element is bad. keever
