The fan noise is the sound of the fan blades hitting the ice build-up. Samsung now offers a larger aluminum heat sink (drain probe) for about $10 that can help prevent freezing of the drain hole on the fridge side. This will help keep your cooling coils and fins from freezing-up. You will need to unplug your fridge for 2-days with the doors open to give it time to completely melt any ice build-up. Then remove the shelves and drawers to open the inside back cover, as the new drain clip replaces the smaller existing one located at the bottom behind the back wall. The part is: Samsung Part# DA61-06796A Evaporator Drain Clip

The rubbing noise comes from your build up of ice. If no auto-de-icer, then unplug your fridge or turn it off, allow it to thaw, remove all dripping water. restart or replug

I use a shop vac to remove water.

be sure NOT to break, or chip the ice, as you may break freezer components

My whirlpool sixth sense fridge freezer is reading F01% (fridge side) the motor seems to be overworking(making noise) but doesn't;t do so when fridge door is open. The freezer seems to be fine and...

the motor is suppose to stop when the door opens and turns on when closing the noise could be ice building up and the fun blade rubbing the ice if unit is empty you should leave the unit disconnected so ice melts and noise will go away when reconnecting if no motor replacement is needed.

Fridge freezer making a loud buzzing noise

My Samsung refrigerator (rf263aebp) was making an awful buzzing noise in the rear after only 1 year. I solved the problem by loosening the rear panel that covers the fan. Apparently, it was too tight and was rubbing on something (the fan?) and causing the noise.

ICE/SNOW BUILD UP IN THE FREEZER SIDE? IF SO, YOUR BI METAL THERMOSTAT OR HEATER IS BAD. THAT NOISE IS PROBABLY THE FAN BLADE HITTING THE ICE THAT IS BUILT UP BEHIND THAT PANEL. GOOD LUCK

Bosch Fridge Freezer KGN39V00/GB noise

Yes, it may be the fan. it might be rubbing against wires or the back panel. if thats the case you can fix it by adjusting the fan so it wont touch the wires or borders of the panel. if you see that the fan is instead rubbing ice ( if there is a ice build-up behind the panel and its against the fan) then the problem is more serious. you may need to replace the bi-metal,possible the timer, resistence and you may have the drain outlet block with food, ice, etc. good luck .

In our 22 cu ft GE SxS fridge /freezer, the freezer fan speeds up and slows down frequently and creates a whoooing sound like a quiet hoot owl when reaching the peak speed of the speed up phase of the ebb...

I have had some of these units making noises like this. One I found was leaking water down from the water inlet tube and in behind the ice maker and behind another panel that shoots up to the ice maker and building up behind that panel and causing a whistling sound. Removing the ice build up solved this one problem but couldn't find solution to the problem for the other. Dismissed it to change in the weather and expanding and contracting of the liner of the unit. Hope this helps.
