Turn the aperture ring on the lens to F/22 or F/36 - turn the ring ALL the way in that direction.

I'm surprised it works at all at f/2.8. The FEE indicates that the aperture ring is not at its minimum setting (largest f/number).

Turn the aperture ring to its minimum setting. You should be able to control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

"I also purchased a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Tamron Adaptall II Lens to Nikon Camera. The Tamron lens still will not fit

What mount do you have on the Tamron lens? (The built-in mount.) If it has a Nikon mount, you don't need an adapter at all. If it has the Adaptall mount then the adapter should fit onto the back of the lens, then the combo should fit onto your Nikon camera. If the lens has a different mount then nothing you can do will make it fit.

Does the adapter fit onto the lens?

Tamron makes lenses with a variety of lens mounts. If the lens has a Minolta mount then yes, you may use it with your camera.

On my Nikon d50 ,, i get error msg, fEE ,, only when my tamron 100-300 lens is connected

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number). You can control the aperture from the camera the same way you do on a lens without an aperture ring.

I just purchased the Tamron 18-270 lens. When I take photos with the flash on, I get like a dark half-circle shadow either at the bottom or to the side of the photos. What could be causing this?

Lens is to long for the internal flash. Try an external one, it's position is more away from the center of the camera. Normally this should'nt happen, may be that the internal reflector of your flash is disorted.
Try to get a cheap 430 EX, more power, better light and with an radio controller usable as an unleashed flash. You'll get better pictures with flash a little bit far away from the camera angle.

Try gently cleaning the electronic contacts on the lens's mount with an eraser. This will remove any mild oxidation on the contacts. If this doesn't resolve the problem, then contact Tamron and ask if there are any issues using this particular lens with a Canon 40D.
