I have a friend that has a Performa dryer, she states that she had the on/off/ selector switch replaced but the dryer will not start. When you depress the start switch, the buzzer sounds. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
My Maytag Performa Oversize Capacity Dryer stopped working without a warning. It dried a load on the week-end without a problem. I put a load in on Wednesday, turned the dail to on
but there was no movement or sound.

Hello, try checking the door switch, with no light in the drum it points to the door switch being bad. To test this unplug the machine, bypass the door switch with a wirenut..Don't forget to replace the switch if bad, the door switch is there for a reason. Good Luck!!! Raise the lid.
Remove the front panel.
Inspect the blower wheel on the motor.
If loose on the shaft, replace it.
Inspect the glide supports on the front drom support.
Remove the drum.
Inspect the rear rollers for sticking.
Inspect the belt tension roller for wear.
