Question about Xerox Phaser 8500/DN Printer

Fault 37,008,44:21892 This error comes up along with service machine. I cant get into the menu for any options at all...all that shows is this fault. Help, Thanks

Any idea if the drum heater is fixable or does it have to be replaced?

Printer paper preheater is open cct. The machine has a seperate drum heater

MP171 copier. Why is it showing error code 542 after I changed the toner?


First a reboot from service mode can clear faults.
To enter service mode press the red stop key then press 1 0 7 and then press and hold the hello button for approx 3seconds. On the next screen press 1 to enter copy service. Now turn the machine off via the red button on the left hand side.
Wait 30 seconds now turn the machine back on.

The error relates to the fuser thermistor and might be cleared by the above procedure. If not then try turning the machine off and the turn it on whilst holding down the * and # keys untill self diagnostic is displayed on the screen. The machine runs a number of diagnsotic test then reboots. If neither of these options clear the fault then you will either need to buy a new fuser unit installation is quite simple but make sure the machine is unplugged from the mains. Or call out a service engineer who. Should be able to rebuild the fuser unit for less than £100 including call out charges.

Hi.
This procedure will clean errors like Note: type errors 09,005.49, 09,006.41, 09,007.42, 09,008.43 ('Ink Loader Fault - respectively cyan, magenta, yellow, black)

Start disconnecting the power cord for ten minutes , then remove the black stick check it and put it back. Ensure you are using original cartridges.


Turn the printer on, to enter the Service menu:

1. -You can access the menu using the FRONT PANEL:
  • Press the down arrow, select "Troubleshooting" from menu and then press OK
  • Press the down arrow until you get "Maintenance Tools" and then press OK
  • While holding the arrow at the top, also press the down arrow at same time, to access the hidden service menu.
  • Scroll down the menu until getting "Enter Diagnostics" and click OK. Wait about 20 seconds, then go to Step 3

2 - If you can not Access the menu because the printer is stuck with the error message on display.
  • If the printer is on, turn it off and wait 10 seconds. Turn the printer back on.
  • Wait to see the Xerox logo on display.
  • Before Xerox logo getting steady on display, press and hold the Back button (back) and 'i' (Help) on the Control Panel.
  • Hold down both buttons until the display shows "Beginning Initialization Service Mode". Release the button and the printer will restart showing the menu "Service Diagnostics".


3 - Scroll using the arrows until "Function Menu" appears and press OK

4 - Scroll using the arrows until you get the command "Clear Fault ISC" and press OK twice to confirm.

5 - Now push the "back" button on the control panel (usually at the left), then press "Exit Diagnostic", then OK twice to confirm.

6 - The printer will restart, and the error message will be gone.

7 - Remove the sticks, check them and load them back correctly.


If the error does not clear, then it is due to a fault, in which case contact Xerox technical support at the number listed on the owners manual.

Error ##334., its my problem


The error code ##334 represents a EEPROM check error. The manual says this means the Printed Circuit Board may need replacing, however, try this procedure.
Insert paper into machine.
1)To enter service mode press Menu, copy, #
2) Select Test Mode with the + or - keys
3) Press OK
4) Press 8, lcd shows 'Please Wait', after wait, press 3, the lcd then alternates between 3-0 (EEPROM clear), and 3-1 (Purge flag)
5) When EEPROM clear (3-0) shows in lcd, press 0, then OK, then Stop then press the OFF button.

Repeat the above from Step1 to step3
in step 4 this time reset the Purge flag by pressing 0 when 3-1 shows in the lcd, OK, Stop, Off.
If the red fault light is still blinking press Resume.

I have this error showing: 09,037,45:101905 ... what does it mean?


Your machine has a problem counting the yellow ink sticks, this can be caused by non Xerox ink or faulty/broken Xerox inks.
Your machine has now gone into a flagged fault state and needs to have the flag reset.
In order to reset the flag, you need to go into 'Troubleshooting' then into 'Service Tools'. Once in service tools press and hold the up button, then press the down button. This will take you into a hidden service menu. Scroll down this menu and look for 'Clear ISC fault' or 'Reset Ink Loader' (there will only be one or the other not both commands) highlight the command by scrolling down to it. Press the OK button, nothing will happen. (Press a couple of times if you want to be sure). Now scroll down to exit and select to return to the previous menu. Switch the printer off by the off switch on the side of the printer, NOT at the wall/plug socket.
Your printer will now reboot. Please be aware, if there is a faulty switch on the ink loader, this method will work until 2.5 inks have gone through the machine, it will then give you the fault again. If it was just a dodgy ink stick, this will be a permanent solution.

I found some thing maybe do for you it may not be rhe right code you have at this moment but it come in handy for you.

31,004.40:6909: it's a mechanical initialization jam error. Pull out the paper tray to make sure it doesn't have a jam. Try also to manually feed some heavy paper or card stock through the printer to make sure the sensor in the preheater isn't stuck.

39,002.40 : DRAM test failure.

39,012.40:56208: "Cycle the power" and if that does not work replace the document feeder.

39,012.41: Document Feeder Optical Failure. Replace the document feeder.

4,0XX.6x: Process Control Software Fault.

· Reset NVRAM and then retest.
· Ensure ground integrity for the system
· Replace the EEPROM chip.
· Reboot the system.
· From the System Setup menu, go to "Information", "Troubleshooting"
· Service Tools menu.
· With the cursor at the top of the Service Tools menu, press both the Up Arrow
· and Down Arrow buttons to display the Hidden Service menu.
· Reset NVRAM is in there.

Solution 1:

a. Reset NVRAM and then retest.
b. Ensure ground integrity for the system.

Solution 2:

1. Turn the system power ON.
2. Wait for the Xerox logo to begin moving across the display.
3. Before the logo is centered on the display, press and hold the Back and Info buttons on the control panel.
4. Hold both buttons until the display reads “Beginning Service Mode Initialization”. Release the buttons and the system reboots into service mode with the Service Diagnostics menu displayed. your machine has a fuser unit fault and either needs a new fuser lamp or fuse, you will need a service technician to fix this fault.

Canon ipf8000 error code


Hold down the roll/media button and the info button while turning on, wait about 10 seconds and release roll/info buttons. You should get an S in the upper right corner. That puts you in service mode. Push menu then scroll down to maintenance then right arrow to head replacement. To get out of service mode turn off.

press menu then start bk copy then fourtimes arrow up (+). machine will be in maintenance mode. What error code does the display show up?
